In the center of Raglan Village, this 16th-century inn is close to the medieval castle, between Usk, Monmouth and Abergavenny. It is a 15 minute drive from the M4 and well placed for the A40.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Art House B&B, which was ideally placed for our one-night stay en-route further south. The building was interesting, as were its surroundings. Our friendly hostess, Christine, was very welcoming and went to extra trouble to get us extra vegetarian items for our delicious continental breakfast.

This property is deep in welsh countryside, located on a working farm. You are surrounded by fields, animals and nothing else! It's only 15 mins to a number of busy towns, but if you don't want remoteness, don't choose this place. For us - it was perfect. But you don't need to worry about a lack of mod-cons! Great wifi, a smart TV, fully fitted kitchen (I mean fully fitted - even a bread maker), heating etc. The property is a little dated, but it feels like you've gone to stay with your lovely relatives in the country. The house is very spacious, ensuites on the two rooms as well as a shower & toilet downstairs. There are books to read, differences spaces to chill and enjoy the quietness (minus the animal noises) of a lovely part of Wales. Geoff and Sally were lovely hosts. Geoff was great in helping us work out where to go and although they are right next door, we didn't feel overlooked at all (I hope they felt the same!). I liked this property as it felt like a home, not a hotel.
A haven of peace and tranquility, this beautiful Victorian villa is ideally located in the lovely county of Monmouthshire, South Wales, overlooking the banks of the River Usk.
The 18th-century Greyhound Inn and Hotel is located in Usk in Monmouthshire, 2.5 mi from Usk Castle. At the award-winning, family-run hotel, rooms are equipped with a desk and a flat-screen TV.

Wish we had known more about the Greyhound as we would have booked for longer. Lovely, charming and great staff. Food was great with many vegetarian options.

We were looking for something out of the way to just relax for the night away from home. The road was a little more main than I realized (as evidenced by the very loud motorcycles that pulled in at 9am), but overall it was a good fit.
The suite had a lovely view. It’s a shame it rained, it’s would have been lovely to sit out on the terrace.
The checking in and out were very easy (almost too easy - if I had been alone, I would have been a bit unnerved by the fact that it’s completely unmanned and not all that secure, but it does say that in the description).
Room : Not made up at all during our two nights stay

Raglan has one of the most impressive castles in the UK, but the little town’s parish Church is also worth a look.
The area generally is excellent for walking: just a little further west around Abergavenny are a number of excellent Hill walks.

The Beaufort has the very best beds we have slept in for many moons!!
So comfortable; deep proper mattresses with good quality bed linen. Towels were also good quality, clean, mark free and thick.

We didn't see Raglan town itself but we visited Raglan Castle. It is an interesting example of late medieval castle which used to be a very exquisite place to live. It differs from other medieval castles with mainly defensive function as it shows how representative it used to be.

We have passed Ragaln castle many times and never stopped.
We have passed Ragaln castle many times and never stopped. We treated outselves to a weekend and toured Usk, Raglan and Monmouth. Raglan is a superb castle, although a ruin, it has a fabulous history and there is enough of the building left to imagine how it worked. The interpretation was very good.
We have eaten at The Beaufort on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The menu is extensive and food has always been beautifully cooked and good value for money. We booked late but were able to secure a king double, which was comfortable and homely. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. The booking included breakfast, which was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever eaten. The full English was extremely generous, freshly cooked using quality ingredients and beautifully presented. We will return!
Our room was amazing, with so many interesting pieces of art throughout the house and garden.
Big comfy bed, large flat screen tv with freevuee and streaming services i.e Netflix.
The house is beautiful and set in a quiet rural setting about 2 miles outside of raglan, which was perfect for we wanted. As we done 3 castles in one day we just wanted to come back and relax. We walked around the sculpture garden and there is a little duck pond at the end of the garden. It was really very tranquil and will definitely return
I really loved the quiet location felt remote although it isnt being in Raglan near the Castle and close to Monmouth. quirky old cottage with great history with amazing art work (both owners are artists). Double Room at top of house comfortable and spacious and liked having the leather sofa in room to read. Lovely breakfast. Received a warm welcome despite only booking 1 hr before!
Very cosy , homey and rustic authentic medieval cottage. The kitchen is warm and homey as well. Set in the countryside. With outside sunny garden and private eating area, with a pond nearby. It's off the beaten track, but close enough to explore other areas of Wales on day trips, and a stone's throw away from Raglan Castle.
The building is incredible, such a tastefully and beautifully decorated house. Its near to Abergavenny and Raglan, the breakfast (no cooked breakfasts) is also very good with plenty of yoghurts and home made jams, hot croissants and pastries, breads and honey, tea and coffee and cakes.... ample.
Lovely setting, historic building. Very helpful and pleasant hotel host. Room very small but comfortable. Excellent food, but no real vegetarian/vegan options other than salad. Safe off-street parking.
Hotel run by 2 artists so rooms decorated with great paintings and sculptures and close to Raglan Castle. Lovely range of homemade jams for breakfast, shame we couldn't warm up the croissants.
Really nice little hotel, very welcoming. The single room was a good size with a wider than average, comfortable bed and nice clean bedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food, atmosphere, cosiness of the hotel and the undercover beer garden. Good location for exploring Monmouth, Abergavenny, Raglan Castle and the Skirrid inn
Staff were generally helpful and the food was good and generous. A very old and quirky hotel. It would suit people travelling light and staying a short time.
