All of the staff were really pleasant and helpful. We had a town view on the corner and it was really bright and spacious. The room had a super king bed and was very clean. The shower had good water pressure. Parking available at an extra cost out the front but was very convenient and good to know we always had a space available when we came back from a day out.
The room was cleaned/refreshed daily unless you put out a do not disturb sign. The tea and coffee caddy is refilled.
The bar downstairs has great views and the usual pub grub menu with large portions at a reasonable price for Cornwall.

Primarily the hosts, Margaret & Owen were great, nothing too much trouble. They accommodated us with early check in and upgraded us to spacious family room. Sumptuous breakfast options - Natalia was very welcoming and attentive to all guests esp during breakfast. It is worth booking a sea view room as view over the coast is beautiful. Our room was so clean and beds comfy. Accommodation is located a minute off Main Street and 5min walk to bus station. As stated by hotel we knew parking is limited but parking at Manor St Car Park is only 3mins and 6pm till 9am is only £2.10!! Cheap daily/hourly rate too. Overall if visiting Newquay we highly recommend staying at OYO Minerva.

Surfer Days and Steamy Nights
Newquay has that laidback feel that goes hand in hand with being England’s undisputed surfing capital. The centre of the action is Fistral Beach whose swells and Cribbar Reef produce some of the largest breakers in the British Isles. The long, sandy beach is backed by tall dunes which give way to Newquay Golf Club.
Great Western Beach lies below sheer cliffs one street from the train station, while Towan Beach by the picturesque harbour is the closest to the town centre. Tolcarne Beach is sheltered in its own bay, as is the wide stretch of sand at Porth Beach whose northern coastline is 2 rocky headlands joined by a narrow footbridge over the sea.
Each beach is overlooked by luxury hotels with spas, cheap hostels and self-catering apartments on Booking.com. All are surrounded by Newquay’s restaurants, bars and clubs which offer the best nightlife this side of Bristol.
More leisurely pursuits include Trerice manor house in the countryside near the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. Buccaneer Bay and the Blue Reef Aquarium are popular with families, as are Waterworld and Newquay Zoo within Trenance Gardens.
Another favoured spot for a walk are the salt marshes by the River Gannel which is a prominent sight as you descend into Newquay Cornwall Airport.
The best thing about Newquay for me is the magnificent...
The best thing about Newquay for me is the magnificent coastline of dramatic cliffs, rock pinnacles and sandy beaches - unsurpassed for a seaside town I have been to in my 75 years. For drivers the town is badly signposted but this is typical throughout Cornwall. I was hoping for more live music events but it seems the last week in April is not the time for these. I thought the Irish Bar next to the Victoria Hotel, frankly, grim. Not much else to say that makes this town much different from countless others in the UK.

If you go for service or a swim on a hot day, probably you will enjoy yourself. If you are on a city trip, you won't be pleased with Newquay and run away to atmospheric St. Ives. We didn't feel like it was a happy place, more of a Benidorm for flat beach entertainment. It is hard to find a nice place for a tea and scones. It is a bit derelict and has the feel of a lack of care. But that is common at many seaside resorts in the UK. A pretty view from the Aldi parking and further the only kind of highlight is the harbour. But you've seen that in a few minutes.

We enjoyed Newquay.
We enjoyed Newquay. It was much improved since our last visit in the summer several years ago when it was very hard to avoid drunken teenagers. We were less impressed with the amount of dog mess on all the pavements.

We are an older couple in our sixties, so Newquay maybe does not hold the same appeal to us, as to a younger couple with kids, but, it was certainly a great base for exploring Cornwall.
We have to say that we did feel a little intimidated by some of the 'locals' around the train station. but that might just be an age thing.
The beaches and shoreline was very clean and well kept, and loved watching the surfers.
I really can't understand why Sarah has any negative reviews. After staying at a hotel by fistral beach we stayed here for our last night. The room at Sarahs place was lovely and we both wished we'd stayed there the whole time.
It was much better value for money but still lovely
Its five minutes up the road from a lovely beach and about ten minutes from the Newquay centre.
She also does an amazing breakfast in the mornings, don't miss out on this little gem of a bnb
The Victoria Hotel is a a fantastic Victorian hotel in the centre of Newquay. The location is very good for travel connections such as bus and train. The most outstanding feature is the huge central staircase and sea view from some rooms. The rooms we comfortable and clean and with a wide range of room of doubles and family rooms are available. The staff were friendly and made us welcome. The breakfast was OK with a full English available and some other buffet options.
We liked everything. Our room was spacious and well decorated. Everything in the room and the bathroom felt new. The owners of the hotel are very nice and made sure we have everything we need. There was a lovely balcony with swing chairs with partial sea view. The location is good, just a quick walk to the beach, town centre and supermarkets. Newquay has several beautiful beaches with golden sand and majestic cliffs.
The pool was a great feature my boyfriend loved the sauna too the bed was comfy the room had what we needed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming great location on the seafront great too see the sea every morning when curtains were opened. Breakfast was quite good just enough portion sized. Lots of leaflets in the hotel on activity’s to do in Newquay.
Our host was super helpful and nice. Really appreciate his efforts to help us out. The caravan was lovely and warm. We liked the kitchen living room layout - really practical use of space. Enjoyed the pool sauna steam room, friendly staff. We were amazed how short the walk into Newquay was too! Enjoyed coffee at the Watergate hotel too.
Lovely hotel with amazing views. The location was fantastic, very short walk and you are either in Newquay town centre or right on Fistral beach. The room was a good size. Staff were really welcoming and friendly. The bar/ restaurant was stunning with an open fire. Very dog friendly so you are not restricted if you take your pooch.
This hotel was beautiful. You really couldn’t beat the surroundings. The view was unbelievable & was lovely having an outdoor pool & jacuzzi as well as indoors. Perfect short walking distance to Newquay town centre too (down the road) as well as Towan & Fistral Beaches. Just stunning! Food was amazing as was the service.
View from the room was great, more than expected. The room was a good size and good to have a private bathroom also. Great location in the centre of Newquay and entertainment facilities were beyond expectation as well. If you want a cheap and reasonable place to stay, this is a good place to crash.
The property was in a great location, just a 15 minute walk into the town centre and 2 minute walk to the nearest beach. The hotel was great, staff were helpful and friendly. The room itself was clean and the beds were so comfy! The swimming pool was also lovely!
A comfortable, modern and well appointed unit, having lovely views of the valley. The site is quiet and peaceful but still close to the beaches and Newquay, and has facilities such as a restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The hosts were hospitable and helpfull.
The hotel is in a great location of Newquay town centre which meant we could walk to the plenty of beach's including Fistral beach! Hotel refurb has been nicely done, very modern and clean. All the staff were really nice & helpful with any of our quires.
Lovely Character property. Family room was amazing size and so comfortable. Catered well for us snd our dog.
Lovely breakfast. Would recommend
Lovely views of beach from hotel.
Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance.
It was perfect! Clean & Tidy! Beautiful rooms and sea view. We couldn’t fault anything other than the room being a little hot at night. And it was about a 15 minute walk over to Newquay City Centre. We would come back within a heartbeat.
Brilliant location, close to beach and short walk to town. Breakfast was really good, great selection. We had an evening meal in the hotel and it was very enjoyable. Hotel was lively and staff were friendly.
Fantastic hotel, amazing staff - Emma was extremely helpful, the best location you can imagine. It was worth driving 7h. Well done all the staff and thank you for making our stay so special x
