Lovely quiet location, nice sized room, great bathroom (love the corner bath and TV in bathroom!) Interesting building and lovely, helpful people. Information in book in room was good and interesting to learn about Melksham and the building. Loved the fact was family run business that cares about the environment and tries to be sustainable. Thank you for our stay :)

The room was as modern as you could expect in a listed building, Dinner was excellent Breakfast was good. The grounds offered enough paths to stretch your legs after dinner. The Bar served a good selection of drinks but was limited to bottled beer as draught beers were impractical due to the limitations of the buildings listed status.
Overall would definately stay again in the future.

We were staying for our anniversary weekend. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly and even took time out to answer questions about some of the buildings in the village and to recommend local areas to visit.
We had a delicious cream tea when we first arrived - lovely warm scones and very fresh.
We also had a lovely evening meal there. There was a lovely selection of food.
To finish our visit we had a wonderful breakfast there too.
All very nice and we would definitely stay again.

Melksham is a busy town whose main claim to fame is its close proximity to the historic abbey and village of Lacock and the short drive to the equally historic town of Bradford on Avon.
It is also a relatively short distance from the M4, making a perceived ideal location for a stopover for those heading to the southwest. However, upon reflection, it may be better to consider other locations, particularly if planning an extended stay.

Melksham is a good base for touring the local area but the town is a little run down with no real quality shops. Quite a lot of traffic passing through the high street but there is a Sainsburys and Waitrose in town so easy to get provisions. Two nice pubs Kings Head and Market Tavern serving good food plus there are Indian, Italian restaurants and various fast food outlets. Also a Wetherspoons pub we went in for a drink but would avoid if we went to Melksham again

Plenty of shops, even more hairdressers (we counted 16!) and a bank with free withdrawals. The Tourist Information Office was great and with plenty of information to hand.
Whilst the Kings Arms does have a restaurant, we thought it was a little pricey so we went exploring. There are plenty of takeaways inlcuing Thai, kebabs etc and a dine in / takeaway curry house. For us, the best place to eat was The Market Tavern, just a few yards away from the Hotel. Outstanding cuisine to suit all tastes, utterly fabulous service, a good range of Ales, Ciders and Gins and the food was served quickly.
Plenty of walks to do around the town but if you're after a good night life then you won't find much there.
Melksham has a Sainsbury's, Waitrose and "Pound" shops, Greggs etc.
Overall a beautiful town and worth the visit.

Melksham is a fairly quiet town, a few pubs in the town, great as a place to stay to explore Bath & other historic areas, I looked up the top 10 places to do here, number 1 was the swimming pool & the other 9 were churches!!!! Enough said…

Some nice buildings in typical stone.Shops limited, which is perhaps not surprising with pandemic etc. Has a Waitrose so plenty of parking .
Overall very quiet and not very interesting on a winter weekend!
Lots of interesting places nearby for tourism eg Lacock. Good as a stopover certainly or possibly as a base for the area..( we were not doing tourist stuff this trip!)
Can't really comment as a winter trip and did not eat outside the hotel.

Lovely small town, busy though with a small variety of shops and restaurants and pubs. Lovely riverside walk.
We ate two nights at the Hotel, once at Refa Tandoori, which we can recommend and once at An Italian restaurant in the town.
We recommend a visit to beautiful Castle Combe, a gem of a village. We found Bath very busy and difficult to park.
Sunrise Lodge and Everything was awesome - there was nothing needed. Fabulous location, Tea coffee and coffee pods supplied plus milk in fridge. Cleaning products and towels Nicola was kind welcoming and so very helpful with local pubs and taxis. The Lodge was spotlessly clean yet dog friendly - donkeys and goats grazing outside in paddocks. Ducks and chickens next door. Lovely children's play area ⭐❤️we are definitely going to return and the local pub The Brewery is a short walk with great food and hospitality too.
A perfect family holiday home. We were meet by the very friendly host on arrival. The house was great, perfect for our family of 4 (2 young kids) The house is very cosy and finished to a great standard. located on a lovely farm just outside Melksham, and close to the canal. good size bedrooms, large kitchen with all needed. We would definitely stay here again, thank you.
Great family run place, really friendly and a relaxed atmosphere, really clean and great facilities. The location is great, very close to Melksham centre but you feel as if you are out in the countryside and it was nice to have a walk down the lanes. Great options for breakfast. If I need to go to Melksham again I will be staying here again
An absolutely gem of a hotel. Paul the manager couldn’t do enough for us. breakfast was great, facilities were excellent including the free heated pool. Rooms were best I’ve ever seen in a hotel . Far out does more expensive hotels that simply don’t care. Will stay here again. Infact have already arranged with owners
The building itself is fantastic, the room was good and the pub was great with very well kept Butcombe ales. The staff were very nice and helpful and breakfast was very good - a good selection of options and high quality.
There was plenty of free parking and the hotel is very well situated in the town.
We stayed at The Kings Arms Hotel for one night and we really enjoyed it. The staff were a delight, very welcoming and helpful.
The rooms are cosy, comfortable and very clean. We had breakfast included and we thought it was delicious . We will definitely come back, it was great value for money.
Nice cottage on the outskirts of Melksham close to a couple of pubs. Co Op and garage at the top of the road. In easy walking distance of the town and bus/railway station.
A lovely couple who were very kind and knowledgable
Location and peace and quiet. Friendly and helpful host. Lovely touch with flowers and bowl of fruit.Lots of space in property with a well equipped kitchen. A great base for places like Bath, Avebury, Melksham and Devizes.
A lovely little hotel with lots of character. Staff were helpful and friendly , Room was comfortable. Hotel is in a good location. Exactly what we needed during our trip
