FAQs about hotels in Birmingham

Top-Class Shopping, Culture and Sport

The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centres. Well-known for the M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it is a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.

Most city centre hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping centre, and just behind is Digbeth Coach Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.

The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Centre) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.

Just opposite is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modelled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.

The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top football clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

Birmingham is a busy and growing city with a lot of development going on. But there are great museums, a sea life centre, Legoland, a lot to see. The best thing is that it´s within a day's trip to Leicester, Coventry, Warwick, Stratford, and many more splendid places.

This property is a scam! We are not very happy for it was so dirty and disgusting! It was totally different from the picrure to the actual place!!! All bedsheets and duveys are so dirty, stinky and blood stain! The kitchen is full of mess and rubbish! The sitting area are full of chewing gums! The toilet bowl is full of poo! The sink a lot of hair!!!! A normal people cannot stay on that kind of place! Booking.com should give us a full refund!!!!which they never did!

Since building the tram ways into Birmingham is has made it safe for pedestrians but taken away the vibe the buzz of socialising and pushed it into down town Birmingham where the train station is. Watch your pockets get drained by over pricing your pocket, we were over charged for a meal by £30 they blamed it on the technology they were using.

Fantastic compact City, with everything you would need for a short stay. It was so easy to navigate and the bars, restaurants and hotel we experienced were top notch. The canal area with it's lively restaurants is a real buzz, if you like that! We came from Ireland and it really was a hop and a skip to get right to the centre of the City from our own doorstep. I would highly recommend Birmingham for a visit if you like shopping, restaurants and very friendly people. We will be back!

Extremely impressed by Birmingham and ideal for a short break. The canal, Westside area has been completely redeveloped. There are many restaurants, theatres, a concert hall and arena all around the canal area. It’s all beautifully clean, modern with lots to see and do. It’s only a short walk to the Bull Ring offering a great selection of shops and places to eat. Central Birmingham has been reinvented over the last decade! Well worth a visit.

Really clean and fresh hotel in Central Birmingham, near to everything in the city centre. Stayed on the hottest day of the year and appreciated the air con. Family room comfortable for one night, may be tight on space if staying longer, bathroom was lovely. Had room on 17th floor (very top) but 3 lifts came regular. Breakfast was included with price and had everything you would want- cereal, hot food and continental. Really enjoyed our stay and would look into other holiday inns for future adventures.

The hotel was in a good location for the city centre. Staff were friendly and always helped if I had a problem. Although there was no coffee faciilities in the rooms there was an option to pay a liittle more to buy at reception. There was a continental style breakfast every morning included in price. The hotel is very accessible and is at the centre of Birmingham city so it was very convenient when visiting the city centre. There is also a secured, underground parking which we really liked as it felt safe. The hotel is affordable and came with free breakfast and free parking (until August 2021) for us. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. It is also dog friendly. Would visit again. It is a nice place to stay in if you’re on a budget.

Excellent location, right in the heart of the city centre, clean and comfortable accommodation. The room was a decent size for 3 adults. It would've been good to have a little table and seat for getting ready to go out, but this in no way detracted from our stay.
