A really nice city just aside of the Rhone river. Historical monuments, an interesting historical museum and many good places to enjoy a good lunch. During the summer, you can enjoy music in a real Roman theater.

Vienne is a wonderful town. Not too big but much to see.
Vienne is a wonderful town. Not too big but much to see. Easy walking to the sites. For a small town person, it is easier to cope with than a big city. Interesting Roman sites, cathedral and museums but none overwhelming. Easy access in and out of town so driving is convenient.

All the museums and the Roman archaeological site were closed on the second and only full day of our stay. We especially enjoyed the wonderful view over the Rhone and the city from the believers. It was a steep climb, but worth it. It was a pity that almost all the restaurants had chosen to close in August, surely the peak time for visitors.

We had almost no time there at all, but we could see lots that needed exploring.
We were a little surprised that in the old town sections that we walked there were heaps of bars but few dedicated restaurants. Maybe we just missed the restaurant section.
There certainly weren't; the numbers out eating that we have seen in other French and Italian towns.
The river is impressive.
The ruined Chateau looks intriguing from down on the flat, but we've climbed to a lot of ruined Chateaux in the past couple of weeks and didn't feel inspired again.
When we booked the hotel, we did not know that a 2 star Michelin restaurant was in the hotel, and available for booking for the very Saturday night we were there. So with a last minute booking from the restaurant, lovely room, elegant atmosphere and a Michelin-like-breakfast, it was a 24 hour experience..
Also, very convenient parking,
Confortable room with the view of the Pyramid.
Helpful and welcoming staff
Very clean.
Very silent room with a perfectly working air condition.
The appartment is located in walking distance to the city centre. The apartment itself is well equipped, clean, shiny. Bed is not so wide as expected, which could bring discomfort to some people (including me).
City of Vienne is very nice and I can recommend the visit of Gallo-Roman museum and also viewing point PIPET
The room is spacious, comfortable, and well supplied. The location is great if you have a car, and the secure/free parking valuable. There is a supermarket just around the corner, views across the river to the vineyards on the hills, and you're a short drive to Vienne.
Perfect for a stop during our drive through Europe. The parking lot was a public one, and from some hotel rooms you have a perfect view in case you feel like checking your car. The area felt quiet and we were able to sleep perfectly.
Ibis Budget is good for what you want. Rooms are small but comfortable. Good location in Vienne with access to sites and easy access. Like other stays, this is fairly bare bones, but for one person quite comfortable. Good breakfast.
The very late booking went well, I was contacted by staff with detailed instructions. Very much appreciated. I liked the location of the hotel, looking onto a beautiful street, and the boulangerie is across the road.
Location is perfect, in the middle of vienne. Parking is public available in front of the hotel. Perfect for a small trip with kids by visiting the roman museum. Close to the hotel there are also some supermarkets.
The property is purpose build and a little tired, but it was terrific value. The staff were welcoming and helpful, pointing us towards the free buses for the Vienne Jazz. Perfect for our purposes
Very friendly staff. The person who worked the evening shift was very nice and helpful. The hoek is a very typical French style city hotel. Nothing fancy, very clean and a good breakfast
