We have been many times to Andalusia but this was far the best accommodation we have ever had.
We stayed six days at Casa del Mar which is a two storey townhouse on the top of a hill with east facing bay windows and breathtaking views of the bay with La Herradura. We were having breakfast on the beautiful spacious terrace with vibrant coloured flowers, deep blue sea with reflection of the rising sun in the background every morning.
We planned a lot of sightseeing tours during our holiday but we ended up staying in the house for two full days just to chill out, basking in the sunshine and reading. We went out for running and hiking on the local coastal route and beach every day. There are amazing views of the sea and the cliffs only just a few minutes walk from the house/ you need the climb through a small wall at the sharp bend at the end of the street to find the path up the hill to Mirador del Cerro Gordo /
The downtown is only ten minutes drive and there are plenty of grocery stores, excellent restaurants and bars nearby.
The house and kitchen are fully equipped, we had everything we needed. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with two single beds and the main bedroom with a double bed. The beds were comfortable and the neighbourhood is quiet, we had great sleep every night.
When you open the balcony doors and shutters in the morning the sun is flooding in.
It was an absolute Paradise for us, we are dreaming of retiring to a house like this.
The owners Marcos and Teresa are lovely people, after a few WhatsApp messages we ended up meeting them on our last day for a tapas and guided city walk in Granada.
We had a great chat and night out with them.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Modern luxury beach Penthouse is situated in La Herradura.

Amazing, comfortable and cosy apartment. We had everything there, fully equipped kitchen, great view, parking close to the house. We stayed there the first week of March, when it was so quiet place we really enjoyed. Just hygge :-)

There isn't much to do in the area apart from water-based activities, which was the main reason I went - snorkelling, diving, swimming, kayaking, etc. But when the weather is bad, Malaga is only 1.5h away by bus and other cities/towns are 30 minutes away.

This apartment is a total gem!
This apartment is a total gem! You're right by the sea and even have a natural reserve as your neighbor, so the views are just insane. I mean, where else can you see a deer strolling by in the morning? The place itself is super stylish and decked out with all the amenities, including a kitchen that's got everything. And don't even get me started on the jacuzzi on the terrace—it's the ultimate spot for star-gazing.
The host was a breeze to communicate with, always quick to respond and super helpful with local tips. Oh, and the two modern private saunas in the apartment? A personal spa, perfect for for unwinding. Trust me, you won't regret booking this place. It's a slice of paradise that makes you feel like you've hit the vacation jackpot.

This has been one of my favourite holiday rentals ever!
This has been one of my favourite holiday rentals ever! Andreas and Ines are kind, attentive, responsive and generous people and are wonderful hosts. They live next door and are very respectful of the privacy of their guests.
This modern duplex home is set in a wonderful, quiet, up-market, residential neighbourhood. It has everything you could possibly need and it is comfortable, very well finished with super air conditioning. The beds are super comfortable and the bedrooms come complete with attractive and very functional mosquito nets. Ines clearly has wonderful taste and attention to detail and this is obvious from the thoughtful details and love that has been poured into this fantastic home.
The views from the spacious balcony are spectacular! We spent hours relaxing in the shade looking out at the trees, sea and bay as the sun set behind the hills. It’s also a wonderful setting for a Yoga practice and a few sun salutations.
The fantastic pool is a short, steep walk towards the bottom of the property through a lovely pine tree filled garden. The pool area also has amazing views across the bay and is very well equipped with modern recliners, pool accessories and brilliant umbrellas providing ample shade. The house faces west to catch the brilliant evening sunsets however there is sun on the pool area from mid morning (circa 10:30am).
It’s an enjoyable 15 minute walk into the town and beach and we strolled in every morning. The town has a myriad of restaurants and shops. There are multiple routes and walks into Le Herradura and down into Marina Del Este on the other side of the peninsula.
Thank you Andreas and Ines for such a wonderful holiday and we will be back!

Beautiful coastal town that is a gem of the Costa Tropical.
Beautiful coastal town that is a gem of the Costa Tropical. Beach is beautiful and plenty of lovely eating options. Hotels and accoodation vary to suit the budget but there is noting too pretentious here. Lovely local Spanish feel to the place. I always want to come back.

A cute little town perfect for a few days on the beach.
A cute little town perfect for a few days on the beach. A good choice of restaurants, cafes and bars - very family oriented. I travelled there with my 15 year old daughter and just wanted a few days chilling and sunbathing. Perfect for this. We were there 1st week of Aug and mainly Spanish people on holiday there which we loved - felt like real Spain. Clean pebble beach - busy by the water (take a parasol), quiet further back. The sea was clear and the perfect temperature. We travelled from Malaga by bus (Alsa). Really picturesque journey taking an hour and a half. 7 euros one way.
My family and I (2 adult, 16 and 10 year-old) stayed here for one month. It is a lovely little apartment and we very much enjoyed staying there. The beach is only 3 minutes away, 2 min. to supermarket and loads of cafes, bars and restaurants within a 5 min. walk. Bus to Malaga/Almunecar 1 min away, easy access to highway. Apartment was clean, kitchen well equipped. The hosts were lovely and responsive and spoke both English and Spanish. I would recommend the apartment and Blue Bay to anyone looking for a place to stay in La Herradura.
What a beautiful apartment in La Herradura. The views from the balcony were out of this world. Really spacious and comfortable apartment. The weather was mixed while we were there so we made the most of the wood burning stove and sheltered balcony. Lovely secluded swimming spot a couple of minutes walk away. Great range of restaurants in La Herradura. We also walked to the nearby Marina and took a short taxi to Aluñecar for day trips. Lourens is a fantastic host and was easy to contact before and during our stay.
We absolutely LOVED our 9 nights at Casa Keko! The location is unbeatable, and the huge private rooftop terrace was unreal! We spent lots of time up there sunning, sipping wine and watching the town go by. Directly across from a lovely Mercado with tapas bars that make your order fresh using ingredients from the market. Numerous small supermarkets within easy walking distance, one block from the beach.
We absolutely loved this hotel, the view from the sea view terrace was amazing, we had 2 sun lounges and a table with 2 chairs. The staff were great, we did struggle a bit with communication as English wasn’t spoken amongst staff and we didn’t know any Spanish, but we got through. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was continental and was adequate .
Our stay at Casa Fuerta was excellent, incredibly clean with amazing facilities, and in a great location, just a short walk from the bars restaurants and the beach. The host Maria was incredibly kind and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
The location was very good, close to the beach and also the bus station. Extremely good value for money! I guess it's also great if you have a car as it is next to the main street and has good parking. And, there is a very cute cat living in the hotel! :D
The apartment is very cosy. It had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The kitchen is well equipped, a fresh bathroom, it is nice to sit in the balcony. It is well located, close to the bus stop connecting La Herradura with Granada and Málaga.
The hotel is in a stunning location on a headland between a beautiful harbour and the bay of La Herradura. The hotel itself had lovely pools and facilities ... but add the lovely local beach bars and restaurants into the mix and its a winner!
Very friendly and welcoming host. The apartment was perfectly located in La Herradura; close to the beach, transportation, restaurants, bars and local supermarket next door. It was very clean and comfortable and excellent value for money.
Absolutely fell in love with Pension La Herradura. The Owner, Delia, cannot do enough to make you welcome. The Pension was immaculately clean. My room had a lovely balcony. Nice Continental breakfast. I'll definitely be back.
Very spacious, clean, and modern bedrooms. With incredible views to the beach and coastline. The caleta Bay team was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at the caleta bay boutique hotel.
A beautifully maintained hotel on a hillside overlooking La Herradura. Views are amazing. Fantastic staff/owners who gave us a warm welcome. Room with balcony was really gorgeous. Great place.
Great location in La Herradura. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff. We had a balcony with a view right on to the beach and it was idyllic. Really enjoyed our stay here.
