Spoiled. Totally spoiled by Blu Galapagos. Everything was over the top perfection. The hotel is on the waterfront near the Charles Darwin Research Center and just enough on the edge of town that you feel isolated yet still within a five minute walk to the heart of this sweet port town. We stayed in the Darwin Suite which is primo for celebrating a loved one or yourself. I’ll be back for sure.

Clean, friendly, probably one of the more modern affordable places to stay. Great breakfast! It’s more expensive than other places on the island, but it is worth what you pay :)

From the moment I arrived, Joseline and her staff took care of me. The location was 3 or 4 blocks from the main strip, which made it quieter. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and had a big balcony. I want to level set for people. If you are expecting 5 star glammer, this is island life in a simple way done extremely well. The bathroom was large with great water pressure. The room was impeccably clean. Breakfast was good. No matter what stupid question I had, Joseline answered. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.

We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed in the evening and the music of the street musicians. We also liked the accessibility of shops, beaches, wildlife, information centre and harbour,
Above all, we appreciated every smiling face and helpful citizen in town.

Diving with Macarrons was fantastic.
Diving with Macarrons was fantastic. Burgers at Golden Prague are amazing. Head to the fish cleaning spot in front of Macarrons in the morning to watch some entitled pelicans and cheeky seals hassling the fishers. Plenty of cheap laundromats in town so no need to bring everything you own. Pizza Italia is great value.
Room was nice and clean. Loved the balcony and the inner yard (safe, calm and hammocks). Staff spoke English. Breakfast was ok, nothing special and sometimes we had to wait quite long time to get it. Wifi did not really work (common in Galapagos Islands). Lots of restaurants and shops on the same street. Near the ocean and about 10 minutes walking distance from the dock where the ferrys to other islands as well as boats for day trips leave. You will get free water from the front desk. Good hotel to stay in Santa Cruz!
Patricia and Washington were wonderful hosts, always accommodating us and making sure we had everything we needed while respecting our privacy. The house is beautiful, extremely comfortable, and clean. Beds were remade every day and we received new towels regularly. Great jacuzzi. It was sad to leave. It is about a 10 min walk from the main street in Puerto Ayora where all the restaurants and national park were. Plenty to do with affordable taxis nearby to get you where you need to go if you don’t like walking.
Neliza was absolutely amazing. She washed my clothes for me without being asked on more than one occasion, made me a snack on arrival, gave me some amazing seafood pasta on another day and the best papaya I've ever tasted for breakfast. As other reviewers have said, she truly makes this place. Her advice on places to go and see that aren't a rip off was also amazing. If I come back to Puerto Ayora (or if anyone I know does), there's only one place to stay!!
I had a problem while staying in Puerto Ayora and Alicia was able to assist me greatly. She called people so I could change ferries and tours. She allowed me to stay an extra night at short notice. The room was always kept extremely clean and tidy and the price of the room per night is extremely reasonable. It is also very close to the restaurants on Charles Binford Street. I would really recommend this to anyone staying in Santa Cruz.
Everything was absolutely amazing. Hostel is more like a small hotel , with great service, quiet locality and perfect rooms!!
Thanks to Dario and his wife... they helped us with our daily itinerary and trips. They took Care of us personaly, every day... we felt absolutely save, grateful and amazed. They make our stay exceptional... thanks to them our honeymoon took a different level

This is a lovely, family-run hotel. It is right in the heart of things (restaurants, shops, sights), but is extremely quiet. Breakfast is excellent. The bed is comfortable. It was pretty hot during my visit but the air conditioner kept the room at a very comfortable temperature. I recommend this hotel t5o other travelers and if I were to return to Puerto Ayora I would stay here again.
Great Place to stay in Puerto Ayora. Close to the center with all the restaurants and piers. Hotel is safe and located in a side street. Area is very quiet. Beds are comfy, rooms are big, Wifi and airconditioning works great. Owners are really friendly and helpful! Breakfast is amazing. Unfortunately we could stay only one night. Would like to have stayed longer there.
The staff was very kind and polite. The facilities of the room are very nice (Netflix, fan, hot tube, internet and so on). The hotel is about 5-10 minutes from center.
The host recommended us a restaurant for the breakfast located at 2 streets away which was very good.
Also, the trail towards Tortuga Bay is close to the accomodation.
They called us a taxi at leaving.
The location was right next to a nature preserve, so it was peacfully quiet with only the waves of the ocean and birds making noise. The hotel was gorgeous and rustic. The owners were exceptionally friendly, and truly cared for the wellbeing of their guests like family. La Fortaleza de Haro is the epitome of what hotels should be on a holiday get away.
Casa cascada is a lovely place in Puerto Ayora. The beds are comfortable, facilities clean, staff is helpful and accommodating and the price is very affordable for Puerto Ayora. It is a safe 15 minute walk or so to the waterfront. The staff helped me secure a ferry ticket when they were sold out and assisted me in planning my trip.
The staff is absolutely wonderful. They are the most considerate staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. Not only pleasant to talk to, but carrying luggage, ordering a taxi, anything to help make your stay better. Special thanks to Omer, Daniel & the lady that cooked our breakfast each day. (Sorry, didn't catch her name)
Location 5-10 min walk from everything, very handy being next door to a cheap laundry and a lovely Italian restaurant! Hostel itself very nice, great facilities (full kitchen), quiet and comfortable. Would reccomend to anyone staying in Puerto Ayora.
A hidden gem in Puerto Ayora. Clean room, solid breakfast, and the location is central and most importantly quiet! Pedro the owner is a wonderful host and enthusiastically assisted with all queries and requests. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and accommodating staff! We stayed at the Ikala before and moved here for the last two days. We liked this place better and the price was a fourth of the price of the Ikala Hotel. Highly recommend it!
great stay at Hotel Acacia. very pleasant concept that I would not have expected in the Galápagos Islands. the hotel staff really makes the difference - very pleasant and always helpful. 100% recommendation
Awesome experience! Everything perfect from check in to check out! The staff is the icing of the cake! Great people and they make you feel home. Highly recommend it in Puerto Ayora!
Great location, very clean, spacious, the restaurant inside the hotel was amazing but my favorite part was the staff front the front desk! They were just AMAZING!
The room is in the heart of Puerto Ayora, with several Mini Markets close buy and just a short (~1 km) walk away from the Charles Darwin Research Station.
