It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval centre, including intact and walkable fortification wall, and lots of nice places to eat. It is well-connected transport-wise for visits to nearby attractions like the roman ruins in Avenches or the (really well-worth visiting) 12th century abbey in Payerne. Murten is vey intresting, bt very small. Take one day to visitMurten and go for a long walk in he forest, by the lake. A "promenade" by boat over the lake (very small) will provide views over the small villages around it. One day is enough for all.

The location is stunning overlooking the lake, and it's right at the old town/historic centre that is anyhow "a must" to visit. The bed was very comfortable and also the pillows just right for us. We had the most amazing dinner in the restaurant - it was a bit pricey, but in the end, we can honestly say we felt it was completely worth it... absolutely delicious - and very attentive staff.SharonSwitzerland

Breakfast was entirely self-serve (in these covid-19 times) but well presented and fully adequate. It's a very quiet location. For travellers by car, there seemed adequate on-site parking which is certainly not always the case for hotels in the middle of Murten.MartinSwitzerland

Our room had a wraparound balcony, which was very nice. Our dog was welcomed to the hotel and allowed into the hotel restaurant/breakfast room (we did pay 15CHF/day for her). The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They held onto our bags after checkout since our trains was not for a couple more hours.

The location is not too far from Murten but you will surely need a car to get there. Also you almost can see the water from the place but access to it is not easy. You can walk for 10 minutes to get to a little tiny open spot. Otherwise you can access to the water through the community space but you will need a key and I am assuming to pay extra for it?

The hotel room was recently renovated, the old hardwood floors are giving it a nice atmosphere but the facilities are new. The owners are very committed and gave helpful tips and their restaurant on the ground floor is great for a nice dinner!
