The hosts, Mark and Carolyn, were very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. They assisted us with an early check in, arranged dinner and even drove us to the airport for an early flight the next morning. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with separate access. The Inlet was close to the airport and in a quiet, leafy area close to the water. Beautiful setting.

The massage was nice, the view from my room and dining room was beautiful, and the size of the bath tub.

This was a lovely place in a great location - far enough from noise, crowds and the bustle of a city hotel, but close enough - a very short drive in fact - to reach these places. We visited the Butchart Gardens (a 10 min drive) and went whale watching in Victoria - slightly longer of a driver but certainly easy to do as part of your day. I don't have any negative comments about the location or the accommodation.

The room I was given had a step down as soon as you entered the room before you could turn on a light. There was a sign on the outside of the door - saying watch your step - never did I think it was a step just inside the room at the doorway - yes I did fall a few times - not hurt but could have been - really a dumb/stupid entrance to a room!!!
Secondly, nobody at the motel told me at check in or ever that the room was ONLY serviced once every 3 days!!
I went to the desk to complain when I had no coffee for 2 days - that's when I found out - unbelievable!!!

Saanichton and the whole Saanich Peninnsula are great places to travel. There are many walking trails up small 'mountains', lovely forested park areas, lakes and the ocean. There are eagles and great blue herons to watch and photograph, often deer and their fawns in the spring (drive slowly--below not above the speed limits. There are several botanical gardens, some that cost money to enter but several that don't. Great restaurants to suit every taste & mood--Thai, European, Indian-- seaside elegant & forest cozy, good bookstores and art stores as well as local markets with lots of local crafts. Cars, bikes, & buses get you around over fairly large areas.

A nice little area within Victoria city limits, which allowed for exploration of the area's both within the city and nearby without having too drive to far in either direction. I highly recommend not staying at the Super 8 though.
The staff were very friendly and the inn has a great look and feel. They did a good job preserving the history of the building. Breakfast was included (continental as well as sausages and eggs after a certain time). It's about a half an hour cab ride to downtown Victoria and a little over 10 minutes away from the Victoria airport. You'll need to take cabs or use a rental car to get around to the attractions in the area, but it is less expensive than many hotels in the downtown area.
Super clean, quiet room on the back of the property. Although the property was full we never heard anything !
Front desk called after we were settled in to ensure we were happy with our room etc. Great genuine customer service !
We chose this hotel because it was dog friendly and we are so happy we did. The yard had a pet friendly area equipped with bags and a trash bin.
Looking forward to returning to this property!
We were a group of 8 cyclists. Cally (front desk) couldn't have been more helpful. She went over and above to make us feel welcome. We especially appreciated her allowing us to secure our bikes in the conference room. She also let us use the library to gather together before and after dinner. It was a wonderful trip and we'd all highly recommend the Waddlling Dog if you're in Saanichton.
Lovely hotel, pet friendly, excellent customer service. The room was charming and breakfast was very good. They have a pub on the property and we really enjoyed our lunch there. There's also a liquor store in the same building, so very convenient. The location is right by the highway and there isn't much to do in the area if you are on foot. We had a car, so it was perfect for our needs.
Previously had a disappointing stay at this hotel because of how disappointing the COVID grab-and-go breakfast was, but decided to give it another try after hearing that buffet style breakfast is back, and I must say they redeemed themselves big time. Breakfast tasted awesome and was real satisfying. Room was clean and hotel is conveniently located close to where I was visiting
We were greeted immediately upon approaching the desk by friendly staff. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. As the breakfast room was still closed due to covid, the hotel still provided hot breakfast sandwich options, along with juice, muffins and yogurt. This was our second time staying here, and both times we had a great experience.
What a beautiful and peaceful location! Loved swimming in the pool, playing fetch with the dogs, and breakfast overlooking the water and forest with mountains in the background. So quiet at night falling asleep to the garden fountain. We enjoyed hiking in nearby John Dean Park and kayaking in Brentwood Bay. And of course Butchart Gardens are not to be missed.
The property was convenient for us needing to be in the area. The rooms were clean, safe and quiet. They are very basic but also very spacious.. they also don’t charge Pet Fees which should be standard across all hotels in my opinion.
I was able to walk my dog across the bridge and directly to the beach for a safe and lovely evening stroll.
We were up too early for breakfast, but the hotel had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was extensive, the bathroom was a bit small, but overall the room was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, it was much better than I expected.
Last minute hotel because the ferries stopped running . The room was fine, good bed ,wifi, tv ,bathroom and it was clean. The main hwy noise wasn't bad at night because basically it's just the road to the ferry and no one's really on it at night .
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Not giving 100% positive review just because of the price. We totally understand the region is extremely expensive and that is not the hotels fault. We thought everything was great though!
Breakfast was excellent!!! There was 3 of us and they even had a comfy cott for us cuz we all like our own bed. Waddling dog pub connected to the hotel had excellent food.
Although it's not in Victoria, it's just a 24 minutes ride form the downtown. The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money.
