It was a good quality hotel with good facilities and the food was good.
I am married to a Bulgarian lady and I know the Bulgarians to be a friendly, helpful, and cheerful people. With the exception of Alexander the shuttle bus driver, I was very disappointed at the surly and abrupt attitude of some staff members. I needed to get some exchange, and this is the first time I have experienced a hotel which does not change currency. I was advised to go to terminal 2 at the airport and there was no exchange there has it has not been built yet. I have stayed in a few Best Western Hotels, this one was very disappointing. The one in Hristo Botev Boulevard had better staff

The check-in was quite smooth. The staff at the reception was quite friendly and welcoming. The rooms were a bit dated yet acceptably clean. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. The location is excellent. The spa facilities were fine too, actually quite good for the price. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

From well-preserved city walls built in the 7th-century BC through to the early Medieval buildings. From the 4th-century Rotunda St. George and 10th-century Boyana Church with its stunning 13th-century frescoes to Socialist-era monumental constructions, Sofia offers a real treat for the city dwellers and history lovers.
Most of the popular landmarks are located in the Oborishte district, the most central part of the city featuring plenty of greenery, cobbled streets and the most popular landmark, the Neo-Byzantine Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Sofia offers plenty of natural sites too, including the renowned thermal and mineral springs, the primary reason Thracians established the city here before the 7th-century BC. There is lots to see and do in Sofia, so it’s worth staying a few days. Sofia is a city with a very rich history and culture. Consider doing a walking tour with Sofia Free Tours or checking out the Red Flat exhibit about daily life in Communist Bulgaria. There are also lots of museums to choose from on rainy days. There are all sorts of tours outside of Sofia as well (Rila monastery, wine tasting, cave exploring, and hiking). There are also many different types of restaurants to try.

I love Sofia this was my second trip there in 5 months. This time enroute to Veliko Tarnova.
It’s a busy city. Make sure if you fly to Sofia you take Yellow cabs.their charging system is very fair and I’ve met some really helpful cabbies.
Sofia is very alive and of course there is a very strong cultural quarter there with a Univercity and lots of interesting history and art.
Some of the buildings look a bit crumbly. However, there appears to be lots of improvements being made to the infrastructure. Building being modernised and brought into the 21 st century.
Nice place.

Sofia is a town with many churches of different denominations. It is easy to walk around and the metro is very easy to navigate. You can use your credit card to tap on and off and the trains are frequent, modern and comfortable. The train line from the airport is only about USD 2.00. The Rila Monastery outside of Sofia is a recommended day trip. Our tour cost Euro 35 per person. The most amazing thing is the archaeology. Throughout the city there is large numbers of archaeology digs exposing historical buildings, with Bulgarian and English interps.

I am from Bulgaria.
I am from Bulgaria. If you traveling during the week and you driving late bare on mind that most restaurants shut at 10:00 except is a wedding and summer.
So, always bring something what you can make such as noodles or fruits.
The apartment is really nice, cosy and clean. IThe kitchen is fully equipped. It is in the city center close to main attractions and metro station - 5 min walk. I really enjoyed our stay in Ayki Apartment. We appreciated especially the warm welcome of the owner and our talks about Bulgarian culture, cuisine, literature and humour. He prepared a map with useful places and advise us what Bulgarian food we need to try. He was there when we needed to ask about something. I really recommended this place.
Everything , such a beautifully furnished hotel, really stands apart from the soulless modern hotels. Such interesting pieces of art and furniture. Whoever designed and furnished it, did it with so much love and passion for the building and their business. Large room, ultra modern bathroom. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Staff so pleasent and helpful. Really it was a joy to stay here, one of the best, if not the best hotel I've stayed in in Bulgaria . Can't wait to return.
First we have room as it was expected. Then they give me another and a facture.
The room have most necessarily things for travel. THE STAFF IS REALLY PROFESSIONAL.
THE ARE TWO REFRIGERATORS WITH WATER BOTTLES, SOFT DRINGS, SWEET CHOCHOLATES AND YOU CAN USE BANKNOTES AS WELL AS COINS. The hotel is two minutes away from the big shopping mall, the 24-hour opened
cigarretes and a famous early opeining sweet cafei. There is also a small shop with traditional bulgarian foods,
I booked this hotel for my mom - she is temporarily extremely disabled after an accident in Bulgaria and I informed the front desk clerk that she might need extra help, as she was traveling back alone after an accident. Anthony went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and provide her with whatever she needed. He kept me updated the entire stay, and made me feel 100% better after a stressful few days worrying about her. I really can't thank the staff here enough.
The hotel has very well decorated, spacious, very clean rooms, friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent, we had a chance to taste different pastries from Bulgaria as well as an international choice of food. The check in and check out were done smoothly, the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. And most important of all, all the staff were very cheerful. The hotel was within walking distance to anywhere you wanted to go.
The owners seem very nice even though we haven’t met them in real. Through messages everything worked smoothly and when we arrived at the apartment it was warm(they already heated the apartment). There is a banitsa shop(Bulgarian pie) for breakfast(except Sunday) and a local supermarket(name: Fresh market), opening every day until 9pm near the building.
Bathroom shower was specious!
R34 Boutique Hotel is one of the best places to stay for reasonable price. Excellent location right in the center of the main street of Sofia - Vitosha. Easy reachable to any destination, many restaurant, bar and coffeeshop nearby.
Room is very spacious, there was a lot of storage space, great bathroom! Everything is very new and clean!
We always stay here :) Great Experience!
Friendly desk staff . Very clean room. bedding towels and bathroom . Small cooker was ideal to cook some early morning eggs before travelling . Have stayed in some of the more expensive hotels like the Ramada . And this was as good for facilities . Would definitely recommend to friends and will be booking in again in return to Bulgaria .
Location, the hotel is in a very peaceful and quiet place surrounded by two fast-food restaurants. There is a bus station and metro station near the hotel, which is great for travel to the center of the city. The two shopping malls are just a 10-minute drive from the hotel. The staff is very professional and friendly.
Right in the best center of the capital of Bulgaria. The best restaurants and shops only 50m walk. Small but very cozy hotel. Extremely clean with comfortable rooms, comfortable beds. Very good breakfast including everything for every taste.
Friendly and helpful staff welcomes guests as part of the family.
Very convenient location to explore Sofia. The room was clean, on the fifth floor overlooking Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Parliament building. The pillows were great. Breakfast was a bit overprized in comparison by other restaurants/cafes in Bulgaria, but the food was good with plenty of choices.
After a week in the Bulgarian mountains, this hotel offered all the luxury we wanted - the rooms are big and clean with great views, the beds - comfy, the bathroom - clean and luxurious. We ate in the Mediterranean restaurant and it was excpetional. Would 100% recommend.
Perfect location, great breakfast, great breakfast room, comfortable beds, the hotel is above average for Bulgaria. The staff were friendly. Very happy with the price for value for money. We would definitely stay here again.
The location is in the mountain but close to the city center, the place is after renovation and with new furniture. Free parking and Wi-Fi. Very nice restaurant with Bulgarian dishes - good price and excellent taste.
Maison Sofia has become our favourite hotel in Bulgaria and perhaps anywhere in the world. Staff are lovely. The sauna, pool and exercise room are top class. The area is quiet yet easy to access. Pretty much perfect.
The service and staff especially
Vasco were exceptional. My good friend and I extremely enjoyed our stay and Sofia, Bulgaria is a wonderful city. We will definitely come back and visit Sofia soon.
Clean, tiny real Bulgarian residential property. In a local residential area, nice neighbours and convenient traffic, and it is quite big, especially for one person
The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had ... A big part due to the mini sausages that were so good, I was yet to try something so tasty in a hotel in Bulgaria.
It is a comfortable hotel with friendly staff in the center of Sofia. The room is clean, there is the tea corner in it. The breakfast in hote's restaurant is tasty.
