We enjoyed driving up to and exploring the tableland towns and tourist spots. Don't like parking infringement for a couple of minutes. We came back to Cairns especially to do Karanda rainforest, train and sky rail adventure, changed our dates to fit in with the opening of the train to Karanda. Rain days allowed us to explore the inner city but we were glad to see the sun.

A great stepping off point to travel north, south & west.
A great stepping off point to travel north, south & west. So many places to visit within an easy distance. Kuranda train, Skyrail, Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Daintree River, Paronella Park, Muma Skywalk, Mena Creek Hotel, Babinda Boulders, Innisfail etc. Vibrant restaurant scene catering for all food choices. Easy to get around if driving.

The best was the variety of tours.
The best was the variety of tours. The best one was on the Seastar to outer barrier reef with only 22 passengers and 8 crew. They took lots of pictures of everyone both on the boat and in the ocean. Fabulous. The worst was the weather but you have to expect and be prepared for the hot humid air and downpour of rain at times. My worst trip was to Fitzroy Island. Was given so much information that I got confused and went the wrong way and it poured buckets with me not not knowing where to go. I was on my own and not very fit and everybody seemed to disappear so it was bad but mostly my own fault.

I’m a local so not on holiday here! Just needed a place to stay in town due to a late pickup from the airport! Cairns is a great place for a holiday! The wet season is probably not the best time to stay though!

I love going to Cairns, it has everything you need for a good holiday. It is very laid back there. The weather is always warm so no need for winter clothes and there's plenty of things to do for tourists. It's an ideal vacation spot
Our view, was a sea view, even though we were by the Marina.
It looked over part of the esplanade which we liked.
The hotel was across from the Reef Terminal, which was great as I was wondering how far we would have to walk to get there. I had booked the tour from home. Not even a five minute walk.
The hotel was close to many restaurants, just below or along the boardwalk.
We did some walking around town for souvenirs and shopping and even managed to go to the Cairns Aquarium.
Location of the hotel is perfect to explore Cairns CBD. The one bedroom apartments are very modern and are located on level 1 to 4. They only get serviced every third day but you can get fresh towels or any missing bathroom items by informing Reception and they will bring it to your room. The walk-in shower is nice and the water pressure is good! The bed was very comfortable with not too soft pillows. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on their food.
The location of this apartment was brilliant. We had an excellent view of the esplanade and all of the people walking by. We walked to everything each day, including the Marina, Brewery and Casino. We were impressed with the size of apartment, it was perfect for our family. We had everything we needed to stay for weeks if we'd wanted to. The price was by far the best in the area and we were surprised at the size and location for the low price we'd paid.
Fantastic apartment, loved our stay and perfect for all the family. Children loved the pool facilities and great outdoor area for us all.Staff were very accommodating and helped out lending us strollers for our stay. Location was probably the best in Cairns- beautiful views of the waterfront and esplanade and close to muddys playground and restaurants, shops and night markets. Just had the best holiday 😀Can’t wait to book again
We came to Queensland as a family for a 10 day holiday. Four days into the break, one of our party tested COVID+ Due to the Queensland school holidays it was not possible to remain in quarantine in the motel we had booked prior. Paradise Links Resort in Port Douglas, and Sunshine Tower Hotel In Cairns were fully informed of our developing COVID status and they honoured our bookings and treated us very well.
The location to central Cairns is great! Very easy to get around. We had a double pram so that comes with all its own issues. The hotel was very easy to get to from the airport and was really cheap in a taxi ($25 AUD). Muddy's playground and cafe is a short 3 minute walk and is fantastic for little kids. Goose Cafe up the road in the opposite direction is the best coffee and breakfast in Cairns. we loved it!
Friendly people, everyday activities planned by hostel or people staying at the hostel. Lunch and Dinner deals with amazing value for the money you pay! Very good bar with a good variety of drinks for good prices.
Tour guide available (CheapAZ) with the best prices for any activity. Just ask and Stu (name of the guy) will give a better price.
Free shuttle to city centre!
Good location for walking to the Esplanade and some good restaurants. The rooms were clean but also lacked character. There were no gardens visible. The hotel is just on a fairly busy street but gets quiet at night. The locked off street parking that was included was great. Pool was nice but on a busy street corner right outside the pool.
Stayed here twice, no frills hotel very close to Cairns CBD, only 8 minutes to night market and many food oulets. 3 minutes to Esplanade and nearest bus stop. Comfortable bed, good shower, very quiet, has a desk & chair for laptop work etc., has a mini kitchen and coffee making. Everything I needed. Highly recommended value for money.
Lovely cool apartments, didn't need to use the air conditioning once in October. Spacious apartment. Beds comfortable. Warm shady pool in the afternoon mostly sheltered from the afternoon wind. Walking distance to everywhere we needed to go in cairns . It was also very quiet.
Greg the apartment manager was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The location was peaceful and a good walk into Cairns city along the esplanade. The rooms were spacious enough for our family of 6 and the semi-enclosed balcony was lovely to chill out on.
The hotel is very nice. The restaurant and bar down stairs were perfect. No direct access to the esplanade was a but annoying but you get that when development is going on. I would recommend this hotel anyone visiting Cairns and I would happily stay here again.
Location was amazing, right in the heart of Cairns just a one-minute walk from the Esplanade Lagoon. Room was nice, clean, and comfortable with a great view. Rooftop bar was a bonus surprise which was also fantastic with great food, drinks, and view.
Check in was handled efficiently and staff were friendly. Hotel is out of town but there are still a few dining options around, particularly the pub next door. Hotel is close to the airport which is exactly what we wanted.
Location Location Location- excellent spot to be in Cairns! Easy walk to Esplanade and restaurants.. The size of the apartment was fantastic. Everything felt clean and newish. Very nice manager on site during the week.
It is one of the cheap accomodations for Cairns, but it still is too expensive for a backpacker hostel. The location is good, the staff are your typical backpacker crew. The kitchen is easy to access.
Apartments were clean and very close to amenities and pools and spa to keep kids entertained.close to Cairns Central Plaza and carins statio .just 10 mins fro. Esplanade.would recommend it strongly
Cairns plaza hotel is in a great location right on the esplanade, the room was clean and tidy!
Staff were friendly and accommodating for us extending our nights stay (twice)
