The Abbey is extraordinary and the surroundings are wonderful. The city is a whole story, full of a preserved history with great attention to detail. Very professional.
Was easy to get around, no problems. We think to plan another trip to Melk in the near future.

Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour.
Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour. We also enjoyed the old downtown and all the sites and stores. We were there during the Christmas holiday break so some stores and restaurants were closed but that did no deter us. Would like to visit in the spring and summer.

Melk is a lovely touristic town, little shops, tiny streets, spectacular monestary and views.

We only had to spend a Friday night in Melk but once arrived (although pretty late), we got out to take a walk. We were impressed by the tranquility of the old town's city center and had a very nice dinner at Venezzia Restaurant (if you don't have to, don't go to the bathroom there :)). We'll be back to visit the Abbey!

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see.
Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see. The town is very pretty and a great place to wander around for an hour or two. There were some nice restaurants and bars, but many places were closed for the season (January). You can see the abbey and town in an afternoon, but there are other places in the surrounding countryside if you stay longer.

Stopped overnight at Melk to visit the Abbey and it was well worth it. Lovely old town with cobblestone streets and a great atmosphere, but the guided tour of Melk Abbey was the fantastic highlight. Saw Durnstein on the way and Schallaberg Castle on the way back to Vienna - both also well worth stopping.
Couldn't ask for a better location right on the square. The parking is much easier than other reviews made it sound. It's an enclosed courtyard and it has a walkway right to the back door of the hotel. We were expecting to walk a few blocks on cobblestone streets with our bags. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety and good coffee and juices. We had a room overlooking the square. It was cool enough to sleep with windows closed. With no AC, I could see it would be a problem on hot summer nights.
This is a very comfortable apartment in the heart of Melk below the amazing Melk abbey, great for exploring the whole area. All of the necessities are provided in the kitchen, so cooking in is no problem. The thing we appreciated the most was the responsiveness of the hosts. They always responded quickly to queries. It was unseasonably hot when we were there, so we asked for a fan. The hosts did not have one immediately available, but went out and bought two the next day. Very helpful.
This apartment is absolutely huge, and very beautiful. It's in a late-Victorian villa, just opposite the station, yet there is no noise from the trains! Very accessible for the Stift Melk and the many places to eat in the historic, small town. The owners are lovely people: as soon as we got off the train, they were waiting to welcome us. The property has a beautiful garden and has absolutely everything you could need for your stay. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Everything was excellent. Free parking space is available. The room was very clean and well equipped. I appreciated the attention for details like special cosmetics made in Austria or the delicious breakfast prepared with care and very various. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The garden is gorgeous and the whole place is peaceful. I would gladly stay again at this place.
Very quaint, well maintained, clean hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable. Very nice breakfast and the patio outside had two large herb gardens and beautiful flowers. Food was very fresh and the apricot/cheese danish was absolutely delicious. We stayed one night and were only in this town because friends live in the area. It was a good choice.
Old-fashioned little hotel on a good place and with great staff. We had a big room with wonderful view on Melk Monastery. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned up. The great thing (for us) is that they accommodate pets, so we could come with our dog. :-) The breakfast is served in a different place nearby, but it is rich and tasty.
100% fit the bill as a comfortable, rural guesthouse at a reasonable price. Hosts were kind, room was clean and inviting and breakfast was excellent. The guesthouse is run with love and care. We enjoyed making ourselves tea in the evenings and going on quiet countryside walks around the little village. 5 minute drive into Melk.
The staff was really nice. The hotel is comfortable and in the main square of Melk. The breakfast was amazing, lot of different options, omelette or eggs on demand, good cheese and meats. I only missed some sparkling wine and the coffee quality was so and so. The room was big and clean. I would have liked to have cotton swabs.
The location was perfect, 1 minutes from the autoroute, and it was easy and simple to get access on foot to the abbay and the city Center of Melk. The kitchen of the hotel was very high-quality, with very tasty local product. The breakfast was delicious.
The host was very nice and helpful. Rooms and the open areas were also great. Located in the center, near several restaurants and with a direct view to the Abbey of Melk. A fridge in the room or on the property would have been nice to have.
We stayed in rooms 11+12 ,one double bed and one with 2 single bed .
It was very clean , the breakfast was good, the staff was very friendly.
Important!! Make sure to have the code to open the gate from the street to the hotel.
Hotel was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We arranged this place because we wanted to stay in a peaceful and comfortable place in our way to Germany. This was a great stop to relax :)
Very good value for money - rooms were clean, warm and quiet. The location was excellent both for access to the train station and for visiting Melk Abbey and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
We were able to park directly behind the hotel. Food and wine at the restaurant were great and the atmosphere of the outside tables was fun. Staff was friendly and spoke English.
Quality-price is fine: quiet area, nice decoration, normal comfort and warm welcome by the hosting family. It's 10 mins walk from the center and the abbey.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff (Philip served us), parking very close is helpful.
Loved the decor of the hotel and our bright purple bathroom!
