Waters Edge B&B is perhaps the best place we stayed on our two-week trip to New Zealand. It is centrally located right at the beach, and one can walk across. We just strolled along to the beach to the Marina, which has lots of dining options. The hosts, Don and Heather, were both warm and considerate. They took every care to make us comfortable and gave us helpful advice on where to dine and what route to take to our next stop. The breakfast was substantial, exquisitely presented, and served on a deck with a full water view. What a great way to start a lovely day in Whitianga.

Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast is a 155 year old hotel and is listed as a Category 2 building on the New Zealand Heritage List. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. The welcome drink was an unexpected bonus and the host was very informative about the history of the town and the hotel.

Te Mata Bay Seaviews provides accommodation opposite Te Mata Beach and features views of the sea. You can relax on the patio and enjoy the sunsets. The million-dollar see view definitely is an advantage to stay here!

Hahei Pavillion Guest House is located in Hahei, 2.4 km from Hahei Beach, 2.9 km from Mare's Leg Beach, as well as 1.3 km from Cathedral Cove. Andrea was very welcoming, showing us around our unit and the property. She helped us with directions to our kayaking adventure the next morning. She also invited us to take a shower in their outdoor shower after we checked out, even providing towels for our use.
