The views from the hotel are unbelievable! I had many plans in Haputale, but I ended up spending most of my time enjoying the view from my bed or balcony. You can watch the sunrise over the mountains and tea fields right from bed. It is probably the best view I ever had from a hotel. I would love to come back just to take it all in. The location is also convenient to get to many different tea farms and Lipton’s Seat, if you do decide to leave your hotel room. Haputale is much less touristy than Ella, but you can still find lots to do. Other reviews mentioned no hot water, but this was not an issue for me. There is a switch outside the bathroom to turn on the water heater. After a few minutes waiting for the water to heat up, I had a nice hot 20 minute shower and never had any issues. The staff are very kind and willing to offer advice and help with booking tuk tuks, etc. Meals were simple but good and affordable. I also recommend walking down through the tea fields to the Olive Tea Center for tasty ice cream and other baked goodies. Really good and very affordable!

The views from the balcony are STUNNING, the breakfast is hearty, so goddamn delicious and fulfilling and the hosts are the loveliest people I have met in all of my travels. I sunbathed on the balcony and just caught up on sleep and rest while it was raining. Would 10/10 recommend and I will 100% come back!!! Oh and the water in the shower is hot and rooms are spacious and have literally everything you need.
