We enjoyed the panoramic view from the balcony (especially for breakfast), as well as the very welcoming family running the rooms. They helped us at every stage of our stay (notably taxi and tuktuk reservation, booking of activities). The room was great, with a confortable bed and a large bathroom. The value for money. The staff. Almost everything. I stayed there for 2 weeks last February. I liked the hotel a lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hashan the owner treated us as his own guests. He is very generous and hospitable. The food was very delicious and authentic. Haputale is very calm place and less touristy than Ella. I loved it more than Ella. It is surrounded by tea plantations, and very ery close to Horton Plains and Lipton’s seat. The hotel arranged trips for us to those places and to Udawalawe National Park. The roads around the hotel are great for trekking.

I had a small balcony facing the mountain and a waterfall. Very peaceful place. Bed is very comfortable, room is clean and the area could get a bit chilly during the night which i love. Avenra Cottage, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Ella, 1.5 km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, 49 km from Hakgala Botanical Garden, as well as 1.5 km from Little Adam's Peak. It was just outside the Main Street in Ella, about a 10 minute walk but still has lots of restaurants near by. It was set back off the main road so we had some privacy. And right next to the path to 9 arches bridge
