The breakfast was great and the common area is nicely decorated with useful things like a big map of Guatemala, games , etc. the staff is very friendly and accommodating . The location is perfect and very close to the airport and with security too. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back and recommend.

Affordable and clean. Easy to check in. Host was very kind and helpful. It is a very small room and very close to the airport and nightlife so a bit loud but I had earplugs so it didn’t bother me. Clean drinking water was provided and the shower was hot.

I sprained my ankle on my first day in Guatemala City and Ernesto went above and beyond to help me. His English is impeccable. Highly recommended!

RIO HOSTEL, a property with a garden, a terrace and a bar, is set in Guatemala, 2.6 km from Popol Vuh Museum, 2.8 km from National Palace Guatemala, as well as 6.8 km from Miraflores Museum. I left before breakfast but what I really enjoyed was the cleanliness of the shared showers, toilets, and the bed. The place had a kind of library feel with everyone being quiet and respectful of fellow guests space and comfort. Unusual for a hostel.
