The room - we had the Scott Suite - was immaculate, spacious and like a home from home. Fantastic breakfast - and the Port and Whisky were a nice touch, too. We'd love to come back.

Our room was set up beautifully and the added extra of and ironing board and iron was very much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable. Amanda also cooked and served us a delicious Breakfast. The location was central to shops and attractions.

A friendly welcome. All sorts of little touches: bathrobes, slippers, fresh milk and a variety of hot drinks in the room. Large, cozy, freshly decorated impeccably cleaned room. The mattress was fairly soft and offered good support. Excellent breakfast. We could choose from an extensive breakfast menu the night before, and everything was served fresh, excellently cooked and exactly as ordered.

Black Burn Lodge B&B has a selection of attractive bed and breakfast accommodation in the Scottish Borders, around 25 miles north of Carlisle. We can highly recommend this place. We enjoyed our time on and around the beautiful property. The host and hostess were exceptionally helpful and informative. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating area near the river. If you are going to the Newcastleton area, this is where you should stay.
