Great location between Wigtown and the Bladnoch Distillery. The house was immaculate and nicely decorated. My wife is a gardener and really appreciated all the fresh flowers inside. This was our first trip since COVID and we had some special needs that our hosts graciously accommodated. Best place we stayed during our vacation.

The Crown Hotel is situated in Newton Stewart in picturesque Wigtownshire, in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway. It features a restaurant and elegant rooms with original features.

Located at the front of the hotel, the Queen Street Bar & Restaurant is open to both the public and residents. With booth seats, it is occasionally host to live acoustic music and a live band on a Saturday evening. It features two large TVs and a pool table. With luxurious seating, the Knights restaurant serves an a la carte menu and a selection of after dinner drinks.

The service was unmatched, every member of staff were helpful, efficient and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The restaurant menu was great - a lot of variety especially with the specials menu changing frequently too. Breakfast was also a winner, continental and a full Scottish breakfast if you wanted (you could pick as many or as less items as wanted). The hotel is more than 300 years old so it was lovely staying somewhere that holds a small amount of history.

The property is completely private. We wanted to quiet get away near the sea and this is exactly that. It was peaceful, relaxing and beautiful inside. Some lovely touches provided to au we really appreciated. Some good food nearby and a beautiful hilltop restaurant not far away. The Roundhouse itself was warm and cosy with spectacular views. Loved watching the birds in the garden and chilling on the chairs outside. Great stay, thank you.

Very helpful host -it was easy to find the property with the instructions. The location was beautiful and the lodge though compact, was extremely well designed. The bathroom felt spacious and comfortable, with some lovely touches of luxury. Even though it rained for some of our short stay, we were happy just spending time in the lodge. The walks we did do, were in beautiful scenery. If you're looking for peace and quiet, in a beautiful location, we would highly recommend it.
