We made a last-minute booking at the Hare & Hounds in Newbury, and it was fabulous! They followed up our booking with a lot of questions, including if/when we wanted a dinner/breakfast booking, what kind of tea we wanted in the room, and if we were celebrating anything (which we were). When we arrived, the staff were amazing and friendly and had our dinner/breakfast booking ready and had decorated our room for our anniversary! The room was obviously newly renovated, as was the whole property. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious and again, the staff were very friendly. Their patio looked lovely, but it was quite stormy, so we couldn’t take advantage. We wish that we could have stayed longer, and have told our friends in the area about the hotel and restaurant so that they can pass it on to other visitors. We will definitely book here again when we are in the area. Thanks!!

Fabulous stay! The room was very comfortable and the food at the Inn was amazing! We were made to feel so welcome at the Inn, and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to the area to perhaps visit Highclere Castle or anywhere in that vicinity. It’s worth the drive! Incredible value for money, located in the lovely picturesque village of Chaddlesworth. Definitely a highlight of our trip, exploring the little ‘public pathways’ around the area, with its gorgeous old homes and their thatched roofs, 900 year old village church and Coos! What’s not to love? Only complaint is we wanted to stay longer.

Everything, mostly how friendly and helpful the service was. Even the pub isn't noisy from the room, and everything looks like it shut down by 11. Also the water bottle in the room is a wonderful touch!

Comfortable. Room was chilled with Dyson Dan on arrival. Coffee machine and water provided. Lots of soft towels and very comfy bed and room. Wonderful powerful shower and food was great. Would definitely come again.
