A lovely B&B. Gail is a charming hostess who really knows the area and had great suggestions for walks and places to visit. Our room was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent — cooked perfectly with a good selection and served in the home’s spacious dining room.

They did a wonderful job refurbishing this country pub. We had a quirky yet modern and characterful room with plenty of sockets for phones and such. Breakfast and dinner were very good and the Inn is a short 1.7 mile walk to the amazing sights at Stourhead.

Rachel is such a wonderful host. The farm is so peaceful and relaxing. From the well appointed rooms in all of the home, beautiful bathroom amenities, to the delicious breakfast. Close to small villages and sights. Live the knitting wool I bought that they make from their own sheep. Will be back.

We were in Mere for a family reunion, The George was a perfect place to stay. The staff were as accommodating as the rooms which were beautifully clean with plenty of hot water.

The optional cooked breakfast was also excellent, fresh local produce cooked to order well worth the extra charge. Karen the landlady was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed, including an iron and ironing board. It is situated close to Longleat and other attractions and Mere is a quiet village with a countryside feel to it.
