I stayed at the Vernon the night before my wedding and they were most helpful. All the bridesmaids and myself were able to use the whole of the pub to get our makeup and hair done which was amazing and Lizzy who was amazing making sure myself and all the bridesmaids had drinks and enough to eat ,She Couldn't have done any more to help us She was amazing She even picked us up from our venue as we forgot our key and took us back to the Vernon it was about 2:30 in the morning. Darren was great. He cooked breakfast for us all and even people who weren't staying there. I would recommend this place so much. It really made my day very special. The rooms were clean, comfortable and perfect for a wedding as we had the whole of the top floor to get ready. But in the end we used the pub which was so kind of them to let us. It seemed not to be a problem at all

We arrived later than expected at Church House however Julia couldn’t have been more welcoming. Our bedroom was spotless and very comfortable and breakfast absolutely delicious - such a treat not to have to cook it myself! I would definitely recommend Church House.

I booked 2 rooms for me and my colleague. The rooms are cozy and absolutely lovely. I enjoyed that it was so well cleaned as well. Recently upgraded, the bathroom looked brand new! We had breakfast at a café that Gary recommended and that was really nice too. Will absolutely come back!

It's a bit out of town center, but apart from that everything was great. The staff were super friendly and had some great tips for dinner. Very nice, clean room, good breakfast. And a refrigerator to keep my local beer cold, which was an unexpected bonus for me.

This property is next to a river and has 3 rooms in a row with a shared balcony overlooking the river which would be lovely for a group booking for a family or friends. The bed was a sumptuous size. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The staff are a delight

Location was ideal for what we needed. Food exceptional steak as good as Miller & Carter peppercorn sauce to die for. Friendly staff and friendly customers.
