This is such a little gem! We stayed in Room 5. Beautifully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, a fabulous nights sleep and breakfast was exceptional (Compliments to the Chef!!). Daryl was very welcoming, as were the front house staff through to housekeeping. You will not be disappointed when you stay here!

A complimentary continental breakfast each day in the room along with full range of hot drinks , also a mini snack bar which you can buy from. The little added touches really make it a lovely place to stay. Can’t wait to come next year to see what else Barry has done with the place .

We had breakfast & dinner, which were all excellent. The staff were great - friendly, welcoming & couldn't have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. In particular we would like to thank Reece who was so helpful & Dawn who was outstanding. As we stayed for 10 nights, there was time to see that this is how they always are - a real credit to your busineaa.

Room was quirky and full of authentic character. Food in the restaurant was excellent but not cheap as to be expected. The room has lots of useless items as standard - iron & board etc

Great location and loads of character. Well equipped rooms and very comfortable beds. Not great for people with poor mobility as public rooms were through courtyards and down corridors, but charming for those without mobility problems.

Beautiful castle with lots of history set in lovely grounds. The weather was superb too. Lovely dinner on Saturday evening in the restaurant. Service was very good. Drinks in the bar were expensive. Great location not far from Newcastle city centre. Lovely staff, polite, great customer service skills.
