The owner, Kate, was absolutely lovely and made my stay perfect. The breakfasts had so much choice and Kate provided me with Oatmilk for my coffee. The Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled egg was excellent. Room had everything you could need and all clean. Easy free car parking right outside.

A 6-minute drive from Castle Douglas, The Haven B&B occupies an 18th-century cottage on the banks of the River Dee. It offers free parking and WiFi and a full Scottish breakfast served in the conservatory.

We loved our stay at the Haven. Our host were very friendly, gave us useful tips and did all to help us find a dinner place on a Saturday night in peak season. The BnB is beautifully situated next to the rive and and old stone bridge.

Towels and bed linen are available in the bed and breakfast. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing.

The nearest airport is Glasgow Prestwick Airport, 92 km from the bed and breakfast.

The location is ideal for exploring the beaches and walks around the Solway firth. The room was very well appointed, clean, warm and tastefully decorated. It was a treat to be able to stay at a residence so much connected with the history of Scotland. I was welcomed in arrival by the very gracious hosts, enjoyed a very peaceful night and was served a first rate cooked breakfast in my room. I can thoroughly recommend Buittle Castle.

Set in Castle Douglas and only 33 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club, Airds Farm Guest House offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This 4-star bed and breakfast offers room service and a housekeeping service. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area.

The bed and breakfast provides some units with lake views, and the units include a private bathroom.

The location in the farmland was beautiful. Walks in the green fields with many sheep and cows. The accommodation was comfortable, good bed, quiet, sunny sitting room looking out over the hills. Walks on the coast are easily accessible and there are a number of good restaurants in Castle Douglas. We appreciated the hospitality of Irene, who was taking care of the guests.

Boasting garden views, The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle features accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 23 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The bed and breakfast has a picnic area and a hot tub.

We absolutely loved our stay in The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle. The level of attention to detail the owners have put into decorating each room, designing the garden, and restoring the castle is incredible and makes the experience all the more special. It was so nice to learn from James about the history of the land and their ancestors. There is plenty of parking, the bed was comfortable , it's near some lovely towns with great restaurants and there appears to be a resident peacock. He was beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and the presentation was delightful. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Situated a 10-minute drive from Castle Douglas, Craignair Cottage is a traditionally built granite house, just 1 mile from Dalbeattie town. The family-run cottage boasts free parking and a large garden with open views of the countryside.

Beautiful setting with great hosts. Helpful, but not overbearing. Price did not include breakfast, however there were many items provided for breakfast for our 4 night stay. Spacious, mini apartment, with room to move, separate living room/ kitchen, hallway and en-suite. We'll laid out, cozy decor. All of the details were well thought out. Kitchen with small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, all cups, glasses, dishes, cutlery, corkscrew, etc. All spotlessly clean, overlooking fields and a beautiful garden, which was ours to enjoy!

À la carte and continental breakfast options with local specialities, fresh pastries and fruits are available daily at the bed and breakfast. As an added convenience, The Art Bank offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property.

The Art Bank is a wonderfully homely and welcoming place to stay. It is kept spotlessly clean and there is a wonderful choice of quality food for breakfast, all cooked and prepared to perfection. We felt spoilt in so many ways by Mandy & Ange - and our little dog is already missing them and their adorable dogs. We really hope we can return to this very special b&b which is a real gem. Thank you both of you!

A great location by the river. A bonus is being able to sit in the wonderful garden by the river or in a large gazebo. There is also a sitting room for use by guests. The breakfasts are wonderful, cooked to order and with mixed fresh fruit and yoghurt.

Excellent breakfast which even included Haggis if you wanted it, served in a lovely dinning area with a view over the Loch. Our room also had a view toward the Loch. We also liked the conservatory which along with an internal lounge area were for the use of the guests, south facing too so nice and toasty. Great location on the Galloway Tourist Route near Loch Ken which is just stunning.

Our hosts, Liz and Philip, were charming, entertaining and very helpful .The breakfasts were really outstanding, with a great choice of stewed apple and rhubarb to go with a special muesli or other cereals, and a really good cooked course . Also homemade marmalade and jam . All beautifully presented . The lovely period farmhouse is in a gorgeous and quiet rural setting .
