The staff were lovely - we had a very nice welcome, with an excellent description of all the restaurants and cafes in the area, and recommendations on where to go. It was nice being in a 'real' Thai town, and not the tourist environment of, for example, Phuket. The whole hotel had a nice modern 'designer' feel to it, but it also kept to the Thai-style. The coffee, tea and sweets in the morning were a lovely touch as well.

Nice, big room, in pretty new hotel. Very good buffet breakfast, with both Thai and western food. Bicycles available to get to the beach, also scooter for rent at decent cost. And the service overall, they really try hard to make your holiday a great one.

Surrounded by a mature garden in Ban Bang La, The Mount Resort is 1.2 km from Khao Lak Beach and Tsunami Memorial-Rue Tor 813. This property features a restaurant, a terrace and free WiFi. Everything here was perfect. At the very edge of the forest, far from the crowd and vehicles, there is this gem owned by a wonderful Thai family. Everything here works flawlessly and wonderfully. The garden that surrounds the resort is wonderful and carefully maintained. Each plant is special and the owner (who maintains the garden) is here to answer any question related to it. The bungalows are of decent size and very clean. The breakfast is phenomenal and varied. There are also two wonderful dogs, Coffee and Lata, who guard this building from intruders of all sizes :))) Wonderful experience in this resort and I can't wait to come back again.

Offering a restaurant and a fitness centre on site, Khaolak Forest Resort features elegant, air-conditioned rooms and villas overlooking an outdoor swimming pool. Lovely Resort in Khao Lak - perfect location about 20 min walk from Khao Lak Beach. We did not want to stay on overtouristy and hectic main drag and this was a great and quiet location exactly as advertised. The road to the beach goes through "downtown", so you will see you're not missing out on anything. Rooms were large and clean, WiFi worked perfectly, staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived from Koh Phayam and arranged the car with a driver through the staff here - they offered better prices than 12goAsia, the ride from Ranong went perfectly fine, so we also booked the next ride with them, to take us all the way down towards Koh Mook (we checked and once again they offered better prices). We also arranged a day trip to Khao Sok National Park through them - it went great! Loved the breakfast: they had both local and Western food, plus the egg station.

This hotel is paradise, the rooms are sparkling clean, spacious, and stocked with everything you need. The terrace outside each room has chairs and the views are gorgeous! The hotel restaurant is also outstanding, we ate dinner here 2 nights and lunch on our last day and the tom ka gai, pad thai, kaeng phed ped, and red curry were delicious. The meals we had at this hotel are some of the best we have had in Thailand. The hotel is a 10 minute ride from the pier but they arrange transportation whenever you need it. The staff here also arranged two full day tours for us into Khoa Sok for trekking and visiting and elephant sanctuary. I strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

Hapla beach cottage is located on Koh Khao Island, just 50 metres from the sea. It offers a beach restaurant, bar and bungalows with a balcony. Free on-site parking is available. AMAZING staff, super clean, the position is excellent. Is it a bit expensive to arrive here, you would need to take a taxi from khao lak to the Pier (600baht), then a long boat (30baht) then another taxi (300baht), bare in mind that the last ferry is at 5.30pm. This place is a dream, so the journey is totally worth it.

Offering a terrace with a fan and water sports facilities, Lake View Bungalows is set in the Khuk Khak Beach district in Khao Lak, 5 km from Tsunami Memorial - Rue Tor 813. Very peaceful, good night sleep, great owner. Will come again.
