Nothing fancy, but tastefully decorated, safe and very comfortable. A last comment: This hotel is a good base for exploring thermal water pools. There are at least 15 "balnearios" at less than hour from the hotel, and many of them accessible with cheap and efficient public transportation, including the famous site of Grutas Tolantongo.

Located within 1.8 km of Hidalgo Stadium and 3.8 km of Monumental Clock, Hotel Pachuca Inn provides rooms in Pachuca de Soto. It's a nice economic place at MX$400 for 1 person per night (although my room has two beds). In other words, at least for this trip, the rate in person is better than the rates online (Google, booking.com etc). They're in the process of expanding or maybe will be, as around 1/4 of the hotel is still under construction. It's not a quiet place as it's next to a busy main road, but it's not super noisy either, it's not in the centre after all. The way it's structured, you can park your car(s) right in front of your room. The Wi-Fi was pretty good and the receptionist allowed me to try it out first (in addition to inspecting the room) before paying. They accept cards with no commission. They sell some drinks at the reception at all hours and they have a small restaurant at low prices that opens until 11pm (food was pretty good). It's around 15 minutes on foot from the bus terminal, which is also where the closest area of restaurants and shops are at and there's a combi to the centre of the city not too far from the hotel. The room is pretty clean as well.
