A gorgeous sanctuary in a quiet area. A short walk or tuktuk ride to beach and restaurants, but very quiet and relaxing. Clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. The owner is a very friendly and interesting guy. He can arrange anything for you and tell you stories about his life. There was great internet access and every room has a balcony with table and chairs if you are working online or just enjoying a quiet sunset. The pool was clean and brand new. Every room had a kettle and small fridge for snacks if you don’t want to eat out every meal. Breakfast was great and made fresh every day. More food than you could ever finish! When they open their restaurant, I’m sure it will be great, too.

The place is very nice and clean and located at walking distance from the beach. But really what made the difference for us was the staff! They are the kindest and most welcoming people we met here, in particular Mr Deen who we now call a friend!

Located in Nilaveli, 12 km from Trincomalee, Cardamon Hotel Nilaveli features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel was perfect as it was located right on the beach and this part of the beach was so quiet, it was like having your own private beach! The best thing about this hotel were the staff - they were the best staff that I have encountered in hotels in my various trips! So helpful, attentive and making your stay as comfortable as possible. Kudos to the entire team!

This hotel is nestled on Nilavali Beach, a 10-minute boat ride from Pigeon Island. There is no available WiFi, a large outdoor pool and spacious rooms with views of the ocean. I love coming here, this is my 3rd visit. I love the open space of the resort, the quite nature, the palm trees, the relaxed poolside, the beach views, the calm ocean is great for swimming. Everything about this resort is amazing for adults, this is my happy place to unwind and re-fill my cup. The staff are caring and kind, the food and cocktails at the beachside restaurant is delicious, we enjoyed beautiful soulful music by the very talented musician who plays multiple instruments. The buffet breakfast is to die for, so many delicious options and food choices. The rooms are simple, large and clean, with comfy beds and amazing views out to the pool / ocean. You can do as little or as much as you like, easy to ride into town and see the local sights or go snorkelling, diving or just relax.

Location is right by beach , staff super friendly and help-full , really good people. Great stay , cabin had shower and toilet , comfortable pillows and bad all you need really :) diving Center right next too :) great location on upavelli beach as much quieter and easy to access everywhere , highly recommend!
