We had a very nice stay. We enjoyed the large selection on the breakfast buffet. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. It is close to the city center/basilica area. I would stay again!

The Mathias Rex guest house is situated in a historic building in the Old Town of Szentendre. All rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking and offer free internet access. A very large apartment-style room with kitchenette. Modern and renovated, electric blinds as well. Beautiful venue and a good location near the old town. Free parking in the courtyard.

We don't speak Hungarian, but her English was good enough for us to communicate, and when not, she called the proprietress who speaks English fluently. Use of the kitchen was nice, though there was no sponge or dishtowel to wash up the dishes (we just used paper towels). Nice location, and quiet,in spite of being on a main road. Safe place for our bicycles.

A different experience sleeping in a moored boat. The staff were a highlight - super friendly with advice on what to see in the local area. Decor is 80’s kitch, which we didn’t mind . Delicious buffet breakfast that was unexpected and a welcome mulled wine was included.
