The hotel is 600 metres from the First Cable Car Station and lies 100m above the centre of Grindelwald. Its rooms and sun terrace have magnificent views of the surrounding scenery. The property faces Eiger (mountain/glacier) and having breakfast facing this every morning while the FIRST gondolas pass by and paragliders land on the field next to the hotel is pure Swiss magic. The location bypasses the town buzzing with tourists as it sits 100 meters in elevation above the town- avoiding the congestion of a popular destination. It does however have a walking path into town but, coming back up could be challenging if you’re tired. By the way, we did enjoy the pavlova dessert at the hotel restaurant!

My room was very comfortable, with thoughtful little extras and everything was very clean. The breakfast options were only cold but there was a lot of choice. There was a nice atmosphere.
