Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. The hotel is just amazing. Very traditional, very friendly staff, professional and welcoming. The onsen is really unique. The dinner and breakfast options were a different experience - though if you are not a fan of oriental food, there is not much to eat. But the process was really great. The hotel rooms are big sizes with great facilities and amenities are in general excellent.

Absolutely love how child-friendly the hotel is. My children (3&1) loved the baby room with the toy kitchen, and the floor we were on had a small play space by the elevator, the wonderful play area inside and outside is fantastic and the buffet included children’s food & baby food. Just spectacular! My eldest experienced onsen for the first time and it was so spacious and easy for him to get around, he loved it! Me and hubby also loved the lounge evening drinks & snacks (which included sweets for the children - amazing) Thank you to the staff who spoke English for my check in!

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko features restaurants, fitness centre, a lobby lounge bar and shared lounge in Nikko situated by Lake Chuzenji and overlooking Mount Nantai. Super atas. Clean, everything is well thought of. Tip top class service, also not to forget to mention about the onsen. It has both hot and cold onsen, very clean with a hot sauna. All washing facilities are very clean and well kept. Also, both the Japanese restaurant and The Bar are astounding in design n service.

Such a beautiful hotel with lovely, friendly staff, excellent food and stunning onsens! We would absolutely stay here again if we were back.
