In a word, everything. The hosts - Alain and Valerie were most welcoming and couldn't do more for us. The location is in the heart of the vineyards, the outdoor swimming pool was great after a full day on the bike in nearly 100 degrees. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was a delight with an assortment of home made jams and cookies. The whole experience was simply wonderful.

Chambres d'hôtes Ô Clair de Lune is located next to the medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, only 400 metres from the historic centre. A continental breakfast is served every morning. Gabrielle is an excellent host, she is very patient and helpful. Though I arrived very late, she was there to welcome me. She emailed me a load of useful information several days before my arrival. The place is clean and cosy, not to forget the awesome breakfast every day with house made bread and cakes, yogurt and all.

This family hotel composed set in several houses is situated in the village of Thonac, in the heart of the Dordogne region.It has a swimming pool, a private pond and a restaurant. Great place, family run, which attracts locals into the bar as well as we tourists. We were visiting Lascaux but also found other places to visit (Chateau de Losse) nearby to visit. Lovely countryside to drive through. This was a great base, quieter than nearby Montignac.

Le Moulin de Mitou Relais is located in the Aquitane countryside, outside the village of Auriac-du-Périgord just 7 km from Lascaux Caves and 30 km from Sarlat-la-Canéda. Lovely hotel in a rural setting, beautiful grounds, decor was amazing. Our hosts Christof and Fatima were amazing as well as the rest of the staff. The cat was lovely too
