Our stay at Chalet Sofija totally exceeded our expectations (which are quite high), from the moment we arrived till the moment we had to leave. First of all, the location of the chalet is out of this world, with views that take your breath away from every angle you look, whether from the room, while enjoying a nice dip in the infinity pool or eating breakfast or dinner from the terrace. The photos do not do it justice, it is unbelievable how beautiful this place is. Secondly and not less important, the hospitality of the hosts, Pop and Aleksandra together with the Manageress Alenka was exceptional throughout our stay and they went out of their way to make us feel at home and that is how we felt during the whole of our stay there. To top it up, the food was expertly prepared and was one of the finest dining experiences we have encountered, exceeding the level of many Michelin star restaurants we have dined at. Pop’s innovative cooking presented us with amazing and delicious dishes with a twist, not only for dinner but also for breakfast. He also served us with very good Slovenian wines that went really well with the dishes served. And, if this was not enough, the room was huge, exquisitely and modernly decorated but perfectly fit with the surrounding nature and offered panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and forest, with a huge terrace from where we could enjoy this beautiful nature up close. I don’t think we will ever find an accommodation in Slovenia that comes even close to what we experienced at Chalet Sofija.

Perfect house (we were two families, eight people altogether) and rented the whole place which included private pool and jacuzzi. Highly recommended, especially if you’re traveling by car. Some hiking trails starts from the doorsteps. Four bikes are provided by the owner and we used this possibility to go to Italy to the lakes. Definitely want to stay again at this wonderful place! Nice sky resort style accomodation. The room was spacious and fully equiped even for an extended stay. We were on road-trip so we only stay overnight. Breakfast was adequate with many options and for sure exceed our expectations. The location is in walking distance from the village center.

Hotel Kompas is surrounded by vast gardens and green meadows at the edge of Kranjska Gora. It is close to the ski slopes and features wellness facilities.

Lovely room with balcony. Super view. Very modern and comfortable. I booked half board, and the buffet dinner was fantastic and really good value. Huge choice and catering for many different tastes. Friendly staff. The hotel was convenient to get to from the bus station. It was an ideal place for the start of my time on the Juliana Trail.
