We loved the outdoor baths looking out the little forest covered in snow. Room was large and comfy. The dinner was amazing. Hida beef was delicious. The breakfast was also tasty. The service was also great. They were very welcoming and kind to us. It feels more personal and private here than other bigger ryokans. Such a lovely memorable experience for us in Japan.

Amazing! Such a great experience of great food and great atmosphere in the middle of the woods but still close to the bus stop. The private hot spring is amazing! Such a relaxing and fulfilling atmosphere.

The location is very convenient - only a five (maybe less) minute walk from the bus center. We dropped off our luggage before checking in and later found the bags in our room. The dinner was a wonderful experience and was probably some of the best food we had on our trip. It was a great way to try many different dishes, all of them well prepared. Breakfast was a similar experience. Both the public and private onsens were very relaxing and very clean. Overall an amazing experience. If we ever come back to the area, we’ll be looking to rebook Oyado Eitaro.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. staff was extremely pleasant. the place is amazingly decorated. They made special and great breakfast for my spouse who's gluten free.

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. WiFi is accessible at public areas for free, while the private-use hot spring bath is available at a surcharge. Wonderful staff, offering perfect service, warm hospitality, the manager even took our photo during the 90 minute traditional evening meal, and gave us the print at breakfast. Superb food, in a beautiful Ryokan, with comfortable Tatami area for beds, set in the most picturesque garden on a river bank. If you do only.1 Ryokan on your trip to Japan, choose this one. You can even reserve a private Onsen for an hour for $12 which gives an amazing couples experience.
