This was the loveliest, most charming and best hosted accommodation of our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. The owners were incredibly kind and have created a little paradise behind their lovely entrance gate. We were very warmly welcomed with a cold fresh fruit drink and a necklace of hibiscus. The room was large and beautifully decorated, with the added charm of hibiscus flowers scattered on the bed and in the bathroom! They have access to a gorgeous beach just a 3 minute walk away where the ocean is actually swimmable! The breakfast they served us included a wide range of beautifully prepared fruit and our choice of eggs - we had a Sri Lankan style omelette that was delicious. We had an equally warm goodbye when we left and consider the hospitality here amongst the best we have experienced in our very expansive travels. We would 150% recommend this wonderful guest house!

We booked Sahana Sri Villa last minute and had a wonderful experience! The owner and her mother were incredibly kind, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is ideal—just minutes from the beach, seafood restaurants, and local spots. Highly recommend for a cosy, convenient stay!

The villa is conveniently located about 1.5 km from the beach, perfect for a gentle walk or a quick tuk-tuk ride. One of the absolute highlights was the boat ride on the Bentota River — an incredible experience! The boat safaris are very well organized and allow you to explore the lush mangroves and spot fascinating wildlife. It was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. I also tried the Ayurvedic treatments offered at the villa — deeply relaxing, professional, and truly healing for both body and mind. Everything about this place radiates peace, kindness, and authenticity. If you’re looking for a safe, serene, and genuinely welcoming retreat surrounded by nature, this villa is an absolute gem. Arana villa is an awesome place in Bentota! Newly built building, it has convenient layout, and location is great - surrounded by greenery, very peaceful and quiet, but only a short walk to beach. Manager Mr. Hector is very nice and welcoming person. Also breakfasts were very good. Due to low season we were the only guests, so staying here was especially calm and relaxing.

On the main road (yet not noisy at night) so easy to find. Close to Bentota railway station, beach, shops, restaurants, and the main town. The room and bathroom was so incredibly clean. What makes this place even more special is the couple that live there and own the place. Honestly, the most genuine and lovely people I’ve come across throughout my Sri Lankan adventure. Food can be provided up request for a small fee and is absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough. I wish I had more time so I could stay here longer! You will not regret staying here! It’s genuinely home away from home!
