We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage Oshu. It was the perfect winter getaway - cozy and wholesome! There was snow everywhere and it felt so magical! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the nearby onsen, which is free if you stay at one of the cottages. When we came back from the onsen in the evening, the staff started a bonfire outside that just enhanced the magical atmosphere. We found a couple of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag hung at our door handle and fully enjoyed roasting them in the bonfire. Such an amazing stay!

The site offered a private dry sauna, an outdoor cold bath (which we didn't use...), a gas grill, and a large outdoor deck with picnic table. The attraction of this location is the unit itself - as an area for a private party (of maybe 4 people) or a place for a couple to enjoy a romantic getaway in Iwate but still in an urban setting. The property provided dinner option was amazingly good! Surf and turf (and veggie) cuts for you to fix on the grill - and not cheap cuts either. The steak was outstanding, as were the seafood selections.
