The host was out of this world! Simply made the trip amazing. No matter what or when we needed- she was there. The view absolutely stunning and the place itself is really really great.

Very well equipped, so many nice little touches, appreciated the treats. Lovely comfy bed. Shared terrace as the front with stunning views across the valley. As with everywhere in Stemnitsa the streets are a challenge so take note of the parking. It’s a beautiful town and beautiful accomodation Very helpful host.

The cottage is rustic, romantic and old fashioned. Vicky the host is very nice and friendly. Pleasant sitting both inside and outside.

Cozy appartment with everything you need. We arrived after a 7 hour hike in the rain. The heater was on, there were fresh cookies and eggs, tea and coffee, enough towels, a lovely couch to sit on and enough electricity pluggs to charge phones.

Special rustic design, comfortable bed

Ortansia is far more than just a place to stay — it’s a home, one that embraces you with warmth and love from the moment you walk in. After a long day of travel, we were welcomed by the lovely mother-in-law of the landlady, and instantly felt like we were being received by family. It's clear that immense care and thought went into crafting this space. The house is beautifully decorated with handmade touches — from a striking wooden stump transformed into a side table to a unique lamp crafted from wood in the bedroom. Every detail speaks of intention and love, a far cry from the impersonal furnishings of typical accommodations. Though the mother-in-law did not speak English, the landlady kindly set up a video call to guide us through the house and explain everything clearly. Their thoughtfulness didn’t end there — as we were settling in, we discovered a delightful surprise in the kitchen: a selection of homemade treats, including melt-in-your-mouth cookies and large raisins soaked in a rich, syrupy liqueur. When we expressed our gratitude, they told us we’d be receiving a goody bag with these delicious cookies to take home — a gesture that touched us deeply. One evening, after returning from a breathtaking hike, we were surprised by a gentle knock at the kitchen window. There stood the mother-in-law, holding a plate of warm, homemade Greek donuts — freshly made and full of love. The owners also went out of their way to help with our hiking plans. They warned us about the weather conditions, which could have made our route dangerous, and even arranged a reliable cab driver to bring us back from the end of our one-way hike. The level of care and genuine hospitality we experienced at Ortansia is truly rare — even in a world full of beautiful places, few feel quite like this. We are so grateful to have stayed here and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you for creating such a magical, welcoming space for others to enjoy.

A peaceful retreat just a short, pleasant walk (along the tree-shadowed "road of love") away from the center of Vitina. Welcomed and showed in by the friendly owners Katerina and Panos, we spent two fabulous days in their flat: comfortable beds (including the large living room sofa), a beautiful spacious balcony/terrace with mountain view where we had dinner and breakfast, a REAL kitchen with Chef-equipment and a wide range of spices and herbs, absolutely delicious homemade spoon sweets (the cherries! and figs!), marmelades, capres and olives, fresh eggs and joghurt, great olive oil... We had ample fluffy bathroom towels, shampoos and gel, extra bed covers (welcome in the fresh mountain night), and flexible check-in and -out time, to make use of every precious hour in this lovely place. There is also a big safe parking area in front of the house. We will surely come back!
