Fab views of the harbour, was on the top floor, you cannot get any better than these views. The staff were very friendly and relaxed, they had someone at reception late in the evening which gave me a sense of security. This hotel is in the best location in Valletta for views, lovely street. I used to stay at the British Hotel on the same road but that is closed. Breakfast was delicious, had a great selection - fully cooked English breakfast, tasty pastries and cannoli. Rooftop terrace is a lso a bonus. Double room view sea view was large with a high ceiling!

There is so much to see in Valletta, everywhere you walk...
There is so much to see in Valletta, everywhere you walk there are amazing buildings and so much history. We had a car and travelled outside the City and again there was so much architecture to admire. There is good public transport in Malta so a car isn't really necessary and the main part of Valletta is pedestrianised.
Lots of restaurants to choose from, but be aware that even if they are showing open on the internet they may have closed down.
Good range of food and drink at a wide range of prices. Mainly Italian inspired food with some local dishes, rabbit stew is a popular local dish.
Vegetarian options on most menu's and a few vegan but allergens often not shown on menu's.
It felt safe walking around at night and had a good atmosphere.
Check days places of interest are open, if you are particulalry keen to see somehing.

Fascinating city - catacombs, cathedrals & Caravaggio.
Fascinating city - catacombs, cathedrals & Caravaggio. We thought the food was great - try and get to Da Pippo for lunch and try the cocktails at Kamy- literally a work of art!
Plenty of gardens or piazzas to rest, soak in the atmosphere and take in the stunning views, easy boat trips across the harbour or to Gozo, Valletta offered so much more than we had expected.
I’d say “go now”. A lot of the old (17th century) houses are being renovated… one day it may become gentrified and a city simply for visitors…

Valletta is a big city... 2 days to explore at least.
Valletta is a big city... 2 days to explore at least.
Forget Gozo... It's over rated... Busy... And not what u think it's going to be (unless u like diving and swimming in sea etc)
3 cities (which is actually just one stop) over the bay by boat is worth doing... The city of senglea is stunning.. Back streets and cafes.
Dingli Cliffs... Take a cab 30 mins before sunset (on a nice clear day) take a bottle of prosecco and some snacks and just watch the sun go down...it's soo serene and calming...
Cabs and uber service excellent all over the country..
Altogether a good 4 or 5 day break...
Enjoy...

Tons to do and we probably only scratched the surface.
Tons to do and we probably only scratched the surface. Food is excellent and pretty reasonable compared to the UK. It feels a very safe place and extremely relaxed. I would certainly do a return trip. It's still quite British in many ways with old style telephone boxes, letter boxes and they drive on the same (correct!) side of the road as us. We didn't hire a car as you can walk to most places in the city or get ferries, Uber, Bolt etc. I think you can't hire a car over the age of 70 so best to check if that's important. Everyone speaks English.

Valletta one of the most improved cities in Europe.
Valletta one of the most improved cities in Europe. When I first visited many years ago it was dead and run down,. Now vibrant, well maintained and restored, it is a gem. Much of this related to EU membership as many restoration and infrastructure projects funded by EU. So much to see and do. For bars, craft beer buffs should visit Dom at 67 Kapitani, Old Bakery Street - see St Johns Cathedral, stroll in Upper Barrakka Gardens, Eat at the Kings own Band Club in Republic St for authentic delicious local food - or push the boat out a bit at Giannini overlooking Sliema - catch the ferry or local boat to the nearby three cities

Best part of the island, loved our time there so much to see...
Best part of the island, loved our time there so much to see and do. Bus station was organised and efficient you can get to everywhere on the and there is also a ferry service between Valletta and Sliema.
Excellent location in the main residential walking area within Valletta. Plenty of restaurants, stores and things to do around the hotel. The room was large, spacious and comfortable. Appreciated getting 2 bottles of water each day. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and offered good variety. I liked that I could change my choice each day as I was there for 4 nights. Really helpful with keeping my luggage for me after checkout as I had an evening flight. Would recommend!
The apartment is at the heart of the city centre. It's really spacious, with a kitchen (where you can make some coffee/meals). The balcony we thought it had is a "closed balcony" typical of the maltese architecture, so no smoking on the balcony, but there is a terrace on the top floor with a couple of tables and a great view. We were able to store our luggage until our flight in the afternoon, the host was very polite and helpful, the communication with the host was really good as well.
An amazing hotel, located on a quiet street, away from the noise of the pubs and restaurants of Valetta, but still close enough for you too reach them by foot. The staff was kind, very capable and incredibly helpful, even aiding us in planning trips around Malta. I encourage you to opt in for breakfast as it was simply delicious, probably the best we've had. All in all, an amazing experience.
Pjazza Merkanti is a great home base in Valletta. It is very centrally located, close to all the major attractions and surrounded by amazing restaurants. We had a third floor room with balcony and the views were incredible. The breakfast was quite good, and in a beautiful setting on the roof. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
This is THE ideal hotel in Malta for a sea front location, excellent amenities, especially for families. walkable to all points of interest, harbor excursions, and excellent surrounding/outstanding restaurants. Hotel personnel are invariably helpful, food choices are plentiful, especially at morning and evening buffets.
Great location, near city centre but away from main hustle and bustle. Conveniently located near a playground which was very handy for our toddler. Lovely sea views and close to ferry to cross to Sliema. Tastefully decorated and plenty of space to spread out in. We especially loved the Maltese balcony and window seats.
Excellent location of the apartment, very good cleaning and spaces. The communication with the owner was fast and effective. We found water and coffee for our needs. Fireworks aside (but get used to it in Malta...) the street is silent despite being very close to the city centre.
- Very clean and comfortable.
- Great location, easy walk from cafes, bars, bus station and the walled city centre
- Great communication from owner (ask them to send you a pic of the small alleyway leading to the front door as it's a little tricky to find otherwise.)
- Quiet.
The hotel location is astonishing! From your window you can see the beautiful landscape of Malta! The hotel has elevator, which is a plus. The breakfast location is around 3 minutes walk up on merchants street at Luciano restaurant, with a Buffet option or English Breakfast.
Located near the Valletta city gates in the pedestrian zone. Very easy to walk in the city and catch buses. Not possible to drive to. One must walk about 200 meters (some uphill) to reach the hotel. It is located in the same building as Starbucks - which is nice.
Perfect to explore the city as it is very close to the city centre. Beautiful view from the top as seen on the picture of the hotel. Classy facility. The selection for the breakfast could be bigger, but the egg benedict is superior.
The unit was clean, updated and well-equipped. The building had a lift and washing machine. It was in a convenient location in Valletta, easily accessible to the Malta bus system, restaurants, and other tourist spots.
Superb location near city centre, with lots of restaurants and shopping. Could not ask for a better location and yet quiet at night. Host is readily contactable and is very helpful with our request.
