The accomodation was comfortable with outdoor seating in the garden. I would highly reccomend it for a lovely place to stay in Birr.

Absolutely loved this historic hotel and the ancient buildings, monuments and stone circle within the grounds.
Appreciated that the hotel was traditional in its style and decor. Loved our beamed bedroom with views over the deer park. The food was exceptional good and lovely to have several different lounges in which to relax or eat. The staff were friendly and hospitable with gems of knowledge about the building. Wish we had stayed longer.

Birr is a lovely town - we visited family and friends and spent some time exploring the town. We visited Birr Castle and gardens, which are spectacular. We were however disappointed that we could not visit the castle itself as it is a private residence. The town is very tidy and people are friendly.

We visited the castle grounds which were excellent and much better than we expected.
Town centre has everything and reasonable cafes. Lots of pubs but then it was Ireland! Restaurants a little harder to find.
Walks and good quiet cycling on your doorstep or a short drive.

Birr is a beautiful town. It's steeped in history.
Birr is a beautiful town. It's steeped in history. The period houses all around are stunning. Castle tour is highly recommended. Lot's to see and do there. Nolan's pub was very welcoming and a great pint to be had. Kelly's bar is great for food and old fashioned Irish atmosphere and pint of Guinness.

Birr Castle was an enjoyable venue for a day visit.
Birr Castle was an enjoyable venue for a day visit. We had dinner in a local bar/restaurant where the food was good and the staff were friendly. Birr is quite a small town and it can be visited over a two day period. It is also relatively close to the Slieve Blooms which is a good base for walking.

Birr is a nice small town with a lovely small park and river walk and a fabulous castle and grounds. Kinnity castle is a short drive away and the Slieve Bloom walking trails are worth a visit if you like hiking .
This B&B is in a great location in Birr center. It is a beautiful old town house, and has a very homely feel to it. We were welcomed by a lovely, friendly lady called Maureen. She very kindly drove us to the hotel where we were meeting friends. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was warm and clean. We didn,t have a cooked breakfast, but there was lovely fresh fruit and homemade muffins, cereal and yoghurts. I would return to this B&B and would recommend it.
Lovely decore, quiet, spacious rooms and comfy beds and stay.
Good location to stop for a night on drive across country, don't need much longer in Birr.
Other reviews comment on the staff, I think they are just young and unaware, if you need something ask, they were more than willing to help and cater to our needs whilst we stayed and all very polite.

The location is wonderful as you can walk around the corner to the castle and for food. The Main Street is walkable too. Our room was clean, beautiful and quiet. We loved the high quality teas and toiletries. Breakfast in the amazing dining room was a treat with excellent service and lot of choices.
Nice location off the main road in view of the Slieve Bloom mountains near Birr town. Welcomed by Carmel and offered fresh milk for the tea facilities in the room. Medium-sized room but good for the price. Warm and peaceful, very comfortable bed. Delicious healthy breakfast.
Spinners of Castle Street, Birr, is excellent. The breakfast was unbelieveable, great variety and freshly cooked. The room was so clean and comfortable. I will definitely book to stay there again if I'm ever in that part of the country. Well done, Spinners. Top marks.
Lovely quiet location easy to walk to from Birr. Comfortable bed and the room was nice and clean. Carmel makes a sensational breakfast! Sausages were just the best and I loved her homemade scones too. Excellent value too, recommended.
very quaint, beautiful hotel, very close to being a B&B. The owners are very hardworking, nice, helpful and accommodating— which included insisting on taking our luggage up the stairs to our room. The Irish breakfast was delicious!
Brona was a wonderful host, and we had a very restful stay. The location is a short drive to Birr Castle and downtown, and Brona gave great lunch/dinner recommendations. Facilities were very clean, and the bed was so comfortable.
The room was spectacular!
Big and comfy, exactly as in the pictures and description.
We got a warm welcome, and had a tasty breakfast.
For those who tour around Birr - it is an excellent choice!
We will sure get back again.
The lovely spacious hotel with sofas everywhere, beautifully modern but with just enough traditional style.. Room was big with two old armchairs and table. Great that breakfast is included in the price too..
Amazing stay at what I can only call a gem in Birr Town. Everything is just a walk away and the house is beautiful with everything needed. Host was also amazing 😊Will definitely return 😊
The room was very comfortable with an en suite bathroom and plenty of room. The accommodation was in a great location for the wedding that we attended and for easy access into Birr.
Location in town and the staff are second to none. The town is underrated as a destination as there are many golf courses nearby and a visit to the castle is a must when in town,
