The staff is very friendly, the owner helps every time for each guests with transportation, excursions and transport to the dinner on dark time - because it’s dangerous to be on a road after 11 pm due to elephant attack. I really like this place - the location is very close to lion rock, you can get it by step. the room has soap, shampoo, mini bar for extra money - tea, coffee and sugar. the light in room is good, conditioner working, mosquitoes blanket is present. The hotel’s garden is very beautiful. I spent nice time in the Rate Sigiri Rock Side Home Stay!!!

Perfectly situated to visit Sigirya, Polonnaruwa and the Dambulla caves. Our rooms were charming; set in magical gardens with a beautiful swimming pool. Best of all were the owners and staff. Chandima went out of his way (literally, as he took us into town to get food and to the caves!) to help us and he and his wife were incredibly welcoming. One special mention for Nishi, who makes the best egg hoppers in Sri Lanka, and whose breakfasts fuel you for the long day of sightseeing ahead! A huge thank you from the three of us.

It felt like home. The staff has been so amazing. The owner and his mum took such great care of us, we’ve had great conversations but they weren’t pushy it all. It felt really natural. The bed was also really comfortable. The bathroom wasn’t the newest but it all worked. You are in the middle of the jungle so don’t expect luxury.

Stayed here for 5 nights and it felt like home. The location is stunning literally on a lake with a view of Lion's Rock. Chami and the family are super friendly and helpful, they even came with me on some day trips and made sure I was sorted with everything. And the food Absolutely delicious.If you're heading to Sigiriya, definitely book in here. You won't regret it.
