Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away. The hotel is very conveniently located about 3-4 minutes from the Kyoto station and there is an underpass straight to the hotel. I cannot stress how great this was in hot weather. The location is surrounded by easy transportation and decent restaurants. It's not as close to the primary night life neighborhoods but makes up for it by providing easy access. The room wasn't very big but every single detail was thought of. The bathroom was one of the best I've ever seen with the shower and tub separated from the toilet by a glass door that keeps the moisture away, this was a huge difference maker. The room was very clean and the amenities were much better than what I've experienced in most 5-star hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

I don't have enough words to describe the amazing experience in this Ryokan! Thank you for organising such interesting activities like the kimono course. I loved the entire stay!!

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. I like their spa, it has CO2 in it which makes you feel like you’re sitting in a tub filled with coke. Quiet neighbourhood.

The room was spacious and well equipped with bedside charging ports for your electronic devices. There are free washers and communal kitchen if that’s needed. Check in and check out was extremely easy too.
