* The hotel's staff was incredibly friendly—from cleaning personnel to the concierge, check-in staff, pool staff, restaurant staff, and management. Crossing the lobby was a walk full of receiving and giving smiles and bows. * The spacious room offered enough space to spread out our things. (We had the standard guest room.) * The pool area is nicer than it looks in the hotel-provided photos. Different beds and two pools are available—one for swimming and one with massage jets. You can directly access the bar from the pool. * Every driver in Yogyakarta knows the Marriot, which facilitates pickups and drop-offs. * The hotel is close to Yogyakarta’s ring road. This makes reaching from YIA and for trips north (towards Borobudur or Merapi and Merbabu) easy. At the same time, it takes some time to reach the city center. Adjunct to the hotel is a big mall with multiple food, shopping, and groceries offers. * The breakfast is the big highlight. The breakfast buffet offers anything you can imagine. There is sushi, ice cream, popcorn, different types of waffles, varying Indonesian food, multiple juices and smoothies, cheese, sausages, eggs… My only complaint is that the offer was too extensive to taste everything during our stay. The breakfast alone is a reason to stay at this hotel.

Incredibly friendly staff and amazing food close to Yogyakarta. The room was spacious and had a very clean bathroom! The amazing swimming pool is surrounded by a well maintained and gorgeous garden. Hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed in! The hosts helped us with the planning of the rest of our trip. They are true experts and hooked us up with drivers and accommodations for the rest of our stay in Indonesia without additional charge, but just because they wanted to help make our stay in this beautiful country as memorable as possible! This place is highly recommended!!! Stay here, you will not regret it!

Big selection of Breakfast Buffet, everything you need to get your adventure started in Jakarta, absolutely brilliant. For dinner we were dining at the Indonesian Restaurant and it was absolutely delicious, maybe not rice with every dish as an option but it is common in Indonesia and important for your daily activities. The bar was brilliant, and the staff everywhere super friendly and helpful! Special shoutout to the bartender with the Glasses wearing the suspenders, he was super super kind we had great conversations and he even would have given me a recipe for the traditional tea in Java and spices for it, but I was unfortunately falling ill the last night and felt sorry to not being able to say goodbye as I only seldom see such kindness of people like here in Indonesia. Please hotel greet him from my end and thank him for everything.

So we actually rented a car at the airport and we came to visit the temples around Yogyakarta. For this reason, the hotel location was perfect. It was also important to be able to rest. There were some kids in the hotel but not on our floor (or at least we didn't hear). We checked the gym and the pool but didn't have much energy to use them after whole day trips. The breakfast was buffet style, and we could find enough vegan/vegetarian options. However, there could be a bit more salad variety. Also, on the room service menu, I didn't see for example any soup (even no basic tomato soup, for example) and also no green salad ... I believe we could have requested from the kitchen, but it was not on the menu. The hotel room was neat and tidy. We loved the modern style, the free mineral waters, 1 bottle of ionised water, coffee, tea, and some chocolates. The room also has a hair dryer and small amenities. We really loved the place. The staff were super nice and friendly. Especially two girls at the breakfast. Can't recall their names but one was inside the salad bar and the other was collecting the plates from the tables. They both spoke great English and were really helpful. If we come again to Yogyakarta, definitely plan a stay at this hotel again and will recommend to friends as well. Thank you.
