The couple who run the guesthouse, were the most lovely and hospitable people! Gio, shared an amazing homemade breakfast each morning, from jams and sauces to yoghurt and bread. The property was ideally located in Telavi - easy enough to walk around to local wineries, museum and the town centre; where you could find taxis to go out to further estates. It was a joy to stay. We spent four wonderful days at this beautiful chateau, and it was truly a memorable experience. The place has a rich history, which is carefully preserved in an exhibition. I highly recommend looking at the photo album of Nino Jorjadze, taken during World War I, and reading about her remarkable family. The house and winery buildings are lovely, surrounded by greenery, and give off the feeling of an aristocratic past. The host was very welcoming and attentive, and the homemade food was delicious, prepared by local women who likely live in the nearby village. Their cooking added authentic local flavors and that made our stay even more warm. We will definitely return!
