How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Pleasantly surprised to find it worth the price. Villa Fontaine is very posh and classy with all the right buttons and amenities. All the little things have been thought of and free toiletries. The toiletries are good quality and smell nice and fresh. Entire hotel has a nice calming fragrance. Close to food and food court is pretty good. Onsen is great. Definitely would come back here if possible.

When we asked about going into city center, we were instead suggested to eat at the overpriced restaurant in the terminal.
Onsen spa experience. Front desk spoke good English.

Great place to stay when flying out of Haneda early in the morning, departure gates were a short walk away. Great selection of shops and restaurants to get your last Japan fix.

The room is smaller than I expected but still comfy and practical.
Very convenient location, without walking outside from the terminal 3, that was the reason we booked this hotel. And the plan worked well! The onsen on site was super, we really enjoyed it.

Quite far from other locations.
The hotel, the rooms and its facilities were all beautiful. It was such a comfortable experience and the Onsen was fantastic. My family loved our stay in this hotel. It’s also walking distance from the airport terminal arrival area.

First of all, the room was very small. We struggled to open two large suitcases in there. We received an email prior to arrival, which informed us we need to book a reservation if we want to eat at the restaurant, as it gets very busy, which we did. The buffet restaurant was really difficult to find and we actually saw multiple hotel guests struggling to find it. When we arrived, the staff couldn't find our booking anywhere, despite me having the confirmation email. After being passed from colleague to colleague, we ended up eating elsewhere in the shopping centre.
You couldn't be any better placed if you're flying from Haneda Airport. You literally walk straight out of the foyer in Terminal 3. There is a very large shopping centre, full of restaurants and shops for any final souvenirs before departing.

The hotel is so massive that it takes a good 5-10 mins to walk from the lobby to your room. It was also slightly confusing in trying to get to the rooftop onsen as only a specific elevator actually goes to the roof.
The rooftop onsen was an exceptional way to end a trip to Japan. Tokyo does not really specialise in onsens, so this was a perfect way to "fit in" the Japanese onsen experience to the trip. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has an early flight to catch.

More help with luggage etc would be helpful for those of us not too young. Everything is a bit too automated. More human touch would be nice.
Excellent location—just a short walk to the terminal, and super convenient w/great shops right outside. Small room yet everything at your hand. Great bathrooms.

- Very easy to check-in and check-out with machines (staff were also available). - Inside the Haneda Garden area and very close to the arrival hall. So when you land, it's a short walk to the hotel. - Room is comfortable enough. - Many restaurants nearby, and some opens until late. - Onsen !!

Heading to the onsen is basically heading a maze by following a series of instructions. After you arrive at the onsen floor, you still need to follow next round of instructions like generate the QR code and tie with the shoe locker which you will end up 4 keys (hotel room key with the onsen access pass, shoe locker key and change room locker key). The intensive instructions to just access to the onsen is just exhausting for newcomers.
Very modern design and very convenient location next to the airport which is suitable for early flight!

Reception Staff didn’t seem to know there were light meals available at night in bar- (in room next to checkin) and my delayed flight meant I missed my booked dinner in hotel restaurant and they told me no meals available in hotel. The next day a senior supervisor sorted the issue out very nicely.
