Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHaving read other reviews concerned about the noise in bedrooms overlooking the atrium, we requested a "city view" room, seeing the address of the hotel was on a quiet side street. Actually, our room on the second floor, one of the larger ones, overlooked the Mitropoleos street, which is more lively. The french windows and shutters do not completely block out the street sounds. The hotel perhaps recognises this and provides earplugs (which I did not use), but this room would suit those best who are happy to live to the Athenian schedule - our first night on Saturday night was noisy until quite late, but after that, we did get a very good nights sleep, as the street is pretty quiet once the shops and restaurants close. We had specifically requested a city view, and enjoyed the balcony view of the street scene, so did not trouble the hotel for a change of room (though I am sure that they would have been very helpful to us had we done so). Other than that, it would have been nice to have a kettle as well as a coffee maker.
We are so glad that we booked our stay with Ergon Bakehouse for our first visit to Athens, and we would come back to this unique hotel again in future. The central location makes walking to all the key sites very easy, and it was also conveniently located for bus and metro network for travelling further afield. We loved the philosophy of the bakehouse with fresh products being baked on site and local products of good quality nicely sourced (we would also highly recommend shopping and eating at the sister hotel Ergon House over the road). All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room facilities showed great attention to quality and to detail (including lovely toiletries and reading matter provided), the shower was large and well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having a private balcony. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The price we paid was very good value. We would return here without hesitation.

GreeceWe loved our stay in Ergon Bakehouse! We enjoyed our room, that was very spacious and comfy and impeccably clean. The bakery concept is very original and the amazing smells of the baking goods were overwhelming, we absolutely loved it. Make sure that you don't miss the breakfast, as it's super tasty and awesome. Last but not least, we need to praise the location of the hotel, as it's as central as it gets. Totally recommend it!

United StatesThe thermostat was on a schedule and was not correct so we were quite hot at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to street noise.
The food was incredible, the hallways smell of fresh bread, the staff is wonderful and so willing to assist. The concept itself is so creative, all the details are so intentional and really well done.

United StatesI cannot think of anything I didn't like.
The best thing about the place was the amazingly helpful and friendly staff. They helped with recommendations and problem solving. I lost my passport which could have been a disastrous experience that turned into just a problem solving process. The place was super clean and the food was great.

United Arab EmiratesI have given a 9/10 because the street facing rooms are a little noisy. Unfortunately, the hotel was full and we couldn't change rooms, but the staff gave us earplugs which worked well. They are opening a roof top bar (will be great once it opens) and the construction work also contributed a bit to the noise. All of these are short-term issues and can easily be fixed.
I almost didn't want to write a review in order to keep this little hidden gem a secret! This brand new hotel did not disappoint. It hits the mark on so many levels, great rooms, amazing smell of cinnamon waking us every morning, friendly staff, awesome food and eco-friendly products and approach. The food was incredible - breakfast included and loved it so much that we ate dinner in the restaurant a few times also! Location is excellent - in the heart of everything and easy to reach. Good air conditioning in the rooms.

United StatesNothing!
Such a clean, calming, almost spa-like experience! The aesthetic was spot on. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We literally woke to the smell of butter/ baked goods. The breakfast was excellent — try the yogurt with honey, really the best I’ve ever had. Terrific location, out of the most touristy area so it was pretty quiet but incredibly accessible to sites if you just walk a couple of blocks.

GreeceIt’s not sound proof enough. You could hear the doors closing loudly in the corridor and although I had an inside room, there was noise in the morning from the guests of other rooms.

AustriaDon't book the small room category, unfortunately there are no windows or only very tiny ones. We switched rooms from one feeling like a basement (even though we were on the 2nd and later 3rd floor) without any window which was even still unfinished (no shower wall, different sink than on the photos) to another one with a tiny window but without any view, we basically did not get any natural light. No flat iron and no complimentary water in the room, wifi is okay but could be better. We had a couple of incidents, the elevator was not working, we got the wrong pizza served after confirming our order twice. Waiting times at breakfast can get very long, but it's worth the wait. The fire alarm went off at 7 am and nobody informed us if this is serious or not until we were standing in our PJs in the entrance hall. I guess we were a bit unlucky but still enjoyed our stay, so I would rebook but definitely another room category.
The reception staff is super friendly and caring, we still felt very welcome even though we complained a bit. We loved the cozy interior style and the breakfast was great! The freshly baked goods are delicious and the entire house smells like cinnamon buns all the time, like in heaven! The location of the hotel in the heart of the city centre is unbeatable, many nice restaurants around and you can walk to all the sightseeing spots. To the beach it's only a 15 min drive.
