A bit “oldish” to justify the room rate. Access to floors was a bit weird with elevators stopping between levels, having to go up or down a few steps to reach level floor. Not sure how that would work with a big suitcase or someone with disability. Not a problem for us anyway.

Location on the beach, easy parking. Very friendly and responsive staff (except one guy who noted a bit aggressively we should not have kept our room keys while leaving the hotel for shopping around, nobody had told us we were supposed to leave the keys at the desk - and at any rate, this does not deserve such a tone of voice). Breakfast was nice.

Just a quick stopover on the way to the ferry home. Handy location for the seafront, harbour & town. Free parking in seafront car parks nearby. Clean & comfortable hotel. Bright, colourful reception. The room had a fridge. The bathroom had a very good shower; the best of this trip!

It should be noted that not all rooms have sea views. Also some guests may be bothered by having to leave their keys with someone at the desk every time they go out.

The location is ideal. As close to the beach as you can get. The staff are superb and really made me feel at home and safe. Despite it being very full, it was also very quiet.

The family room was too small. Once the 2 sofa beds were unfolded you couldn't move in the room. The wardrobe was totally out of reach. This room was nice for 2 people, 3 would have been a stretch but ok. 4 was an error.

A convenient distance from the rail station and, normally, also from the ferry terminal. At present works on the bridge in the centre of Dieppe mean a longer journey from the terminal.

Hotel de la Plage is on the promenade along the beach at Dieppe. It is a clean, modern establishment with a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff.

The only thing I would say to improve our experience would be to offer tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. My husband and myself weren’t bothered but my 80 something year old parents like to be able to make a cuppa when they want one. Having said this when we asked if it were possible to have tea making facilities in their room they kindly sorted it for us.

The staff were exceptional: friendly, helpful and knowledgeable . The breakfast was delicious with a selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, boiled eggs, bread, hand and cheeses. The decor was fresh and tranquil - the reception and communally areas were very much somewhere you wanted to relax and read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. The location was excellent too with the beach being just across from a strip of grass (approx 5 min walk) and the main town / harbour also 5 mins walk away.

The bedside lamps in the room were too close to the bed, couldn't be angled and mine looked broken.

The room was a good size. Breakfast was very good. Nice foyer, library and a bar we didn't have time to try! Good shower. There was a garage for our bikes.

The basin was squeezed in to a small alcove, and daftly the hotel had badly positioned an hair dryer that further restricted the space ! It should be moved.

The first room we were offered wasn’t nice! The lady on reception found us an alternative and it was perfect.

Shame it was two single beds stuck together. Listing a bit misleading as we thought we’d have a bath as it was a superior double but that is only in one of the rooms. Maybe make this clearer on booking

Nothing really; it is excellent value for money with a very good and copious breakfast. My only complaint, but this is my own issue, I do not like synthetic bedding. It makes me overheated; usually I remove the duvet and sleep under sheets only, but I was too tired to that and so woke in the night boiling over.

What I liked above all was the real friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I walked in after a choppy boat crossing to a warm bright and cheerful reception area and was greeted immediately with a big smile, a quick check-in a help upstairs with my suitcase and shown to a warm, confortable room overlooking a peaceful inner courtyard. The following morning a different member of staff also greeted me with a warm and friendly smile. The whole place has a happy family atmosphere and nobody is in uniform which adds to the effect.
