How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The pillows
Used as accommodation before catching morning ferry. Short drive to centre of St Malo to explore in the evening before. Very secure parking.

It’s in middle of a residential housing area … nothing near by walking. Could benefit a coffee machine and pastry in the dining area The noise of the people upstairs moving about talking walking is excessive … Take a top floor room

Walls were quite thin we could clearly hear next room talking and the tv
We were arriving later than normal and the access was explained to us via text and the door was open . Lovely bed .very clean and tidy good access for ferry terminal

Sadly, like so many hotels and like so much accommodation, there are signs of people not respecting the rooms they are renting. There were some signs of misuse, but I don't blame the poor owners.
Pleasant, functional and clean accommodation in an excellent location close to the centre of Saint Malo. The owner speaks good English and was accommodating regarding our arrival time. Very spacious room. Comfy bed.

The place is very clean, and not far away from the city center. We were there during a storm, I barely heard it and slept well. The bed was large.

The one very small downside was the people staying on the floor above were very noisy :(
We had a brief overnight stay before our early morning ferry and this amazing place did not disappoint. The room was huge and spotlessly clean and amazing value for money, cheaper than some grotty hotels we've stayed in previously! We will definitely be staying here again! Very convenient for the ferry too.

Other comments from guests mentioned noise from adjacent rooms. This was true, but didn't really affect us a great deal but I could imagine it might be a problem with young families of which there were none during our stay
We arrived at the time stated and there was someone there to give us the key. The room was lovely - spacious and nice bathroom. very clean. Location ideal for taking the ferry next day from St Malo. There wasn't any breakfast but we knew that in advance and it wasn't an issue as we needed to get off early anyway. Its just off the main route into St Malo but was very quiet and secluded

Very little, but we did struggle to find the reception to check in.
We received an upgrade to our original booked room on arrival. The room was really clean, the grounds beautifully presented and the bed was extra wide and super comfortable. Would 100% return on our next visit.

The shower was powerful but there was no way to mount the shower over the bath.
Room and property were lovely. Room was very spacious and tea/coffee facilities a great touch. Location was great with secure parking - a lovely stop before an early ferry home.
