the shower, the bathroom sink and the kettle. and the idea of the toilet being a little far and separate from the bathroom, so you had to walk thro the room to wash your hands in the bathroom.

we liked the swimming pool and the area around the hotel was very beautiful.

The room was an upgrade double, but was a bit tight and the remodel was a bit worn. The main building is well over a hundred years old and some maintenance has been delayed. A car is necessary for getting to any restaurants or shopping, other than on the property.

Buffet breakfast was an extra cost option but worth the expense. The remote setting and the charm of the place made the stay romantic and memorable.

A beautiful Chateau.we loved the grounds. Everything was to a high standard. We will stay again. Perfect for a stop off before the ferry.

We had a party of 17 people. When the main course was served we had no wine or water. We had pre-paid the wine but they refused to put the bottles on the table and were too busy to serve us. We ate the whole of our main course with no water or wine. I got up and put bottles of water on the table myself when I found them! The red wine was eventually served with dessert. We were still owed a glass of wine and some people had already gone to bed. Also the children didn’t get their main course until all the adults had been served - they are 5 and 7! After the meal we went to the bar and waited while the barman served another person. When we asked for drinks he refused to serve us as it was 2 minutes past ten. He was not polite.

I loved the location and facilities. Most of the staff were lovely.

Unfortunately the restaurant was not taking any bookings which made our trip a little awkward as we had to find an evening meal elsewhere. Maybe not an issue in you are in a car, but on a motorcycle it's far from ideal after travelling 260 miles.

Room was nice with facilities for tea/coffee. Grounds are idilic and a great place to recharge with very friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool was excellent and a great place to unwind.

Breakfast was expensive for what was offered. Not many hot meal options.

The castle was very nice and our room very confortable. We loved having a direct access to the garden which was very convenient for our dog. It was very quiet and we loved the locally made jams and honey they served at breakfast.

I would have liked to have got a table in the restaurant, even though I was too late to reserve a table when I checked in.

Beautiful location, the room had a view over manicured green lawns and trees, was quiet and well appointed.

There appeared to be a staff shortage particularly in the bar in the evening as the bar staff were also serving in the restaurant as well as the bar which led to long waiting times to be served

We have stayed many times and the relaxed atmosphere remains very much unchanged

Room was far too small - we had a "charm" room but could barely get round the bed , and the bathroom was tiny too. Bar and restaurant were quite expensive .

Beautiful grounds and building , with good sized swimming pool ( and tennis courts but we didn't use those ). Restaurant was in an annexe right next to main building. Very good evening meal although not too much choice, excellent service . Very quiet and lovely view from room in main building

Breakfast was very good as was dinner the previous evening. Our dog was made to feel most welcome and there were lovely grounds to walk him in. Excellent location for the ferry and tunnel.

Rooms and common areas need decorating. Restaurant / bar would expect some sort of service between strict opening times. Would stay there again because convenient for eurotunnel and grounds fantastic for walking the dog after long journey. But the restaurant food was very limited and not very good . We arrived about 2.30 pm .. literally nothing available to eat till 7.30pm . Bar opened at 6.30 so we took our own snacks. After breakfast we wanted coffees etc about 11 with friends but nothing available! So hotel not offering a hotel service !

The room was spacious very comfortable. Although we had to pay an upgrade to get twin beds. The property is set in a quiet location. However the hotel room was looking tired and in need of decoration. The restaurant on Sunday night offered a limited menu. There was no facility to get any food at all until restaurant opened …the bar was only open at certain times so not even able to get a coffee !
