How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was very cold when we arrived although warm and sunny outside so had to use reverse aircon as heat which blew straight down in one corner which got hot whilst rest of room stayed cold. Also had to use infrared wall heater to warm bathroom.
Just off the motorway but quiet Plenty of free parking Comfortable and clean but beginning to look a little tired in places Good price.

The very noisy bedroom doors which other guests thought needed to be slammed at 06:00 in the morning..
The fact that our dog could join us in the bar/grill for the evening meal.

Nothing, all is great.
As always, a great place to break the trip from Calais to Mijas. Great friendly staff and a clean comfortable room to relax in. How dog logs loves it.

Convenient location en route to Santander. Clean room. Hotel was surrounded by lovely vineyards with trails and quiet lanes to walk on with our dog.

The food was very poor I had to send my chicken back as it was raw, it was brought back and still raw. I refused to send it back again and did not eat that evening. This is very concerning as if I had not noticed this I could have been very ill when I had a long ferry journey the following day. I would not return or recommend this hotel.

Only negative was shower in bath ie stepping in and curved bath floor sides.
Car park plenty of space and close to entrance. Staff friendly and multi lingual. Magnificent staircase (lifts also), large comfortable room. Good bed (very large) and good shower (in the bath and needed to step in only minor negative). Restaurant and Cafe both excellent food and good service.-- great wines too.

No bar or restaurant menu in room would give idea of what's available rather than going into town.
Stayed a few times on way back and forth from ferry uk, lovely reception staff, rooms being modernised some still under refurbishment we like to stay at front of hotel always oblige us with room at front.

The gardens are tired, but not really a concern for us as we are always just passing through
We have stayed in this hotel several times as it is such a convenient stop off for us en route to France or the UK It is situated on the route, so no tedious drives around the countryside to find our over night stop. The Staff are friendly and helpful and there is a café/ bar that serves breakfast and dinner. Brilliant! Oh, and when we travelled with our dig, that was no problem either!

This was obviously a very upmarket hotel in the past. From the outside it looks shabby and reminded me of Fawlty Towers the film. The reception area is very grand but beyond there the decor and furniture are very dated but I felt this gave the hotel character. Able to hear noise from guests in other rooms and the corridor
Spacious room, large comfortable bed. Excellent wifi. Good location near to town. Bar and restaurant (I did not use). Burger King within a short drive. Close to main road but no noise from road.

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. We normally eat in the restaurant but on this occasion tried the bar food. We had an issue with our order which was dissapointing .
Location for traveling to ferry ports. Rooms larger than normal

The hotel is a beautiful building which has been converted from a monitoring into a hotel which is excellent in design and well worth visiting

We had a car so it wasn't a problem but the hotel was a 10-15 min drive from the town. You definitely could not walk there. We were there in April and it was very warm but the gardens were not open which was very disappointing as it was part of the reason I chose it.
Pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Aranda. Clean and spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Good buffet style breakfast for 10 euros each or you could have individual items in the café for less. Good value overall.
