The owners of the Zandtaart - Margriet and Koos - are going for the extra mile. The breakfast is fabulous. Fresh bread rolls, eggs, cold cuts and daily a surprise. The rooms are clean with their own sink. Plenty of outlets to charge your phone, tablet and laptop all at the same time. Free wifi of course. Walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beach. The atmosphere is very nice. We certainly can recommend the Zandtaart.

The location is excellent. Better than hotel New York, which is much more expensive. Easy access to harbor tours, public transportation and you can just walk downtown. Beautiful view of the bridge as well.

Bacon was undercooked at breakfast which is a problem. After mentioning it, chef got offended and told us to leave it alone. He insisted it was supposed to be like that. Minor problem but annoying. Everyone else was very accomodating..

Staff was exceptional, from the front desk to the cheery and super-efficient woman manning the breakfast buffet. There was NO NOISE at all at night & the bed was comfortable, so we slept soundly.

There were no extras in the bathroom like: shower cap, qtips, lotion, glasses…. The room was not cleaned, when we asked for clean towels and glasses, we got them but the dirty ones were not taken away. One of the reading lights by the bed did not work. You had to walk far into the bathroom to turn the light on. The room is very dark. There is almost no place to put your clothes and there is no place to put you suitcase.
