Holiday Inn Chengde Park View, an IHG Hotel

Positive section of review
It is a very new hotel located at Yuan Bao Shan (symbolize by an ingot shape rock on top of the hill) which we can see it from our hotel room. The decor, furniture and equipment are modern and new. Breakfast is plentiful, good varieties and fresh. Opposite to the hotel there is an eat street with lots of options. The musical theatre is also located opposite to the hotel by crossing a pedestrian bridge. The lighting, bed, pillow are comfortable. There are bus stops located conveniently near the hotel will take you straight to city center or the Unesco World Heritage Chengde Summer Palace and all other main attractions. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We are happy and appreciative with the daily room make up and clean by the cleaner.

The staff are very friendly, welcoming and trying to be helpful but a little inexperience in managing some situations or questions which is understandable, as the hotel is new and the staff maybe newly recruited.

The hotel is located within walkable distance to 2 subway stations (jinyu hutong and dengshi kou) and attractions. The room is spacious, comfortable lighting and good quality bed and pillow. Opposite to the hotel there are some quality restaurants, strongly recommended the beef noodles soup and rice meal from the Xin Jiang restaurant with green decor, and the breakfast shop with buns and dumplings. There is also a 7-11 across the street. We love the summer rock melon sold in the 7-11. There is an indicator button near the door inside the room where you can pressed before going out to inform the cleaner to make up the room. We are happy with the cleanliness of the daily cleaning. Love the sensor hair dryer.

The room given to us has no view. It is facing a wall. The furniture and decor in the entrance hall of the hotel probably worth upgrading as it is old but the inside the room is new and beautiful. The fridge is not working.

Absolutely beautiful hotel if you're just looking for somewhere to stay during a lay over, potentially a little too far out of town of you're wanting to explore the city. Amazing value for money though and really friendly staff.

We had a layover in this hotel for an early flight out. It is located very close to Beijing Capital International Airport with free shuttle bus from 4am onwards. There is McDonald and a few restaurants across the street.

The hotel is older than i thought with dim lighting, old furniture, bathroom and a sink that is clogged. The staff is quite dismissive when we made a few queries about the shuttle bus and check out details.

Sometimes I had to wait 5-10 minutes for the elevators. The breakfast is terrible. Really. It is not worth a single cent.
