Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI would have preferred an iron to the steamer (not quite sure how to use it effectively). A bit more diversity on the restaurant red wine list - something more exciting than pinot, shiraz and cabernet (maybe a Sangiovese or Tempranillo to go with the excellent Salmon Linguine)
It was stylish but simple - industrial with warmth. Loved the record room (you need some better records though - you have a lot of bad op-shop LPs) The food was great (Salmon Linguine)

New ZealandI would have liked to be greeted at the door and helped with the luggage, the shuttle driver didn’t offer to help and there was no one at the door. I was travelling just with a young kid and had to carry all luggage to the entrance in different slots . I got help the next day by the shuttle driver.
Modern, new and beautifully designed Great with a young kid. The play area is amazing and was a good place to stay with my son. Breakfast was also nice, loved the fruit options

AustraliaNothing!
We were greeted by Ben with a smile, and after travelling on a train to get to Sydney before flying out the following day..that was fabulous! We then were introduced to the bar..4 cocktails later, we went up to our room which had everything could could require for an overnight stay. Now, don’t get me wrong, the room is small..but I’m fine with that, we slept there and flew out first thing. The shower was huge..I loved that! It was quiet with the slightest sound of the planes going overhead..never kept us awake or bothered us. The beer, cocktails, staff, burgers were brilliant and we will definitely be back!

AustraliaBreakfast was terrible! Stayed two days and both days the food was well below the standard expected. The breakfast was ordinary and cold, we didn’t bother eating it. The scrambled eggs were cold and tasteless. I asked the chef if there were other egg options and he said no, I told him the eggs were cold and tasteless, he shrugged his shoulder and walked away. The next morning they served what they called omelette eggs, these were worse than the scrambled eggs as they were cold and tasteless it was it they were made of rubber. I asked the chef if there were other options and he said no, I suggested as the chef he should at least taste test the food as the eggs were terrible. He walked away. It was evident others didn’t like the eggs as so many returned plates still had the eggs on them. Management needs to address this as we will not be taking a breakfast option if we were to ever stay again.
It is a nice place with creative design spaces.

AustraliaComfortable one-night stay. We chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to Sydney Domestic Airport. Shuttle buses are available for a small additional cost to make for easy travelling, or it is a short uber/taxi ride as well. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the hotel has a very funky vibe. Rooms were comfy and decent sound-proofing.

United StatesThe room was clean but very small. The pegs on the wall are ok, but I prefer a closet.
The staff was very nice. The game area is fun for people. Close to the airport. Will cost $10 for the shuttle to the hotel and $10 for the shuttle to the airport. This is much cheaper than the cabs.

AustraliaWhen we arrived at the airport we didn't know where to find the complimentary bus that was included in our room package. We rang and was kept on hold almost 25 mins and no one answered. The taxi's wouldn't take us as they said the trip was too short so we had to walk from the airport to the hotel at 9pm at night. Would have liked for someone to answer the phone.
I enjoyed our stay. The rooms were perfect for a quick airport stay over. The downstairs games kept my teenagers occupied. Food was expensive for what it was but nice.
